What's the best way to attach the front spoiler on? Bought one a while ago and need to get off my arse to fit it.

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

But just got the water pump replaced, and new thermostat and housings fitted today :) finely Hopefully get round to put...

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Hi everyone Appolagies for going quite had quite a lot going on and just starting to get round to fixing the issue. I’ve got one question that I’m dreading to ask as I think I know the answer to it. I’ve just loosed the bracket to the fan belt to get it off. I took the belt and bracket off and was l...

Re: Coolant suggestions

Yeah I've been looking into the waterless stuff over the last couple months, I am tempted but I think I might wait till next year to consider it again.

Anyone got any preference on coolant brands or just go for Halfords?

Hi everyone,

currently got the system drained at the moment in my 2.8 and wondered if anyone could recommend what coolant to use to fill it back up.

Cheers in advance

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Right I've accidentally ordered the wrong thermostat. I've ordered an 88degrees one instead of an 82 degree one. So I was just wondering if anybody can make use of it you can have it for free. Can't be bothered with the hassle of sending it back so just going to buy a new one.

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Thanks so much for the help guys! Chances are that I'm not going to get round to it till next month as I'll be going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I don't think the Mrs will appreciate me spending the holiday money on car parts haha Definitely agree though that the water pump needs to be chang...

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Thanks guys! Never gone any further to the engine bay so suppose it's something new to learn. Is there anything I need to look out for when I'm taking the belt off? I'm aware that I'll need a special spanner for the fan and that the bolts holding it on are threaded the other way. Is it easy get the ...

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Right one more question. While I've got everything out and i have access to everything, is it worth replacing the water pump when i replace the thermostat housing? theres been a small leak from it for years but nothing to be worried about. The car is pretty much away for the winter now anyway, just ...

Re: Capri 2.8 spitting coolant

Hey guys thought I'd give everyone a bit of an update. So today I've managed to drain the system and get the rad out. Although the coolant was a bit merky when I came to flush the rad out I put the hosepipe in it and it ran clear. So got all this sorted then continued to spent the next 5 hours swear...
