How do they justify high insurance admin fee
So got my insurance renewal from lancaster who I have been with for a few years now with no complaints until this years renewal arrived. My premium for 2 cars (sierra and capri) is £123 but total price they want is £264. The difference of £140 being for legal protection, agreed valuation and £70 arr...

Re: Setting up weber carb on 2.0 pinto
Just been out and done a couple of pumps on pedal, took foot off , started First time. Will take air filter off tomorrow just to check choke flaps are fully closed when throttle pumped a couple of times and will adjust fast idle as it shot up to about 1700 when I started it like this but looks like ...

Setting up weber carb on 2.0 pinto
Right carb boffins, what's best way to set up my twin weber
for cold start on my 2.0 pinto. Car runs great when warm but takes 3 good cranks when cold even in this weather so I want to make sure auto choke and fast idle are set up properly what's best way to do it please.

Re: refurb steering rack bad experience
good to have this one saved as a favorite as you never know what you will end up with, also CCI not sure if they will be getting any for a while so definitely good to have another supplier who comes recommended. I also know Burton power do them but they only can take your rack and send it off for re...

refurb steering rack bad experience
Just wanted to share my experience of swapping out the steering rack on my 2.0 laser (none PAS). Got the refurb rack from CCI as I had heard of some cowboy outfits who tend to just give the racks a lick of paint, change the boots and thats it so went to CCI as thought they would have reputable compa...

Valvoline VR1 is the dogs bollocks
I have just done oil change on my laser, put Valvoline VR1 in and what a difference it has made to the oil pressure, getting an increase of 2 graduations on the gauge so now at 3/4 way up the gauge. Love this stuff, used it on my previous Capri and in my XR4, both run really well with it.

Seat refurb suggestions
Hi all
Any recommendations for company to refurb my laser cloth front seats, drivers side needs a seam restitching, leather side panel recolouring, etc so nothing too major wrong with them, foam seems fine, etc.

Re: fuse box query
Update on getting this resolved, trying to get the connectors on from underneath the dash is a pain and difficult to get them fully engaged so took the fuse box off, just the 2 screws so easy to do and then the connectors can be pulled up through the hole in the inner wing so you can get them fully ...

Re: fuse box query
Thanks MC, I'm having the problem with the connectors underneath, if they slightly move or you give them a little wobble, connections are lost, cant see any mechanical fixing or clips to keep the connectors on so I assume its just the fit between the pins and the mating sockets that holds the connec...

fuse box query
The 2 square multi connectors on the underside of the fusebox seem to be a loose fit as any slight movement and power is lost, but I cant see anything apart from the pin/socket interference keeping the connectors in place. Thinking of taking the fuse box out so i can see how good the fit of the pins...

Re: bulb types
Ive just done the same on the dash clocks and fitted standard green bulbs so i can still use the dimmer, lined with silver tape after reading yours and Johns write ups. I have also changed the heater motor and matrix so this is when I realised that there is a bulb in the back of the heater controls ...

Re: radio speaker fader knob
Just shows what a great network we have on this forum, received the fader knob for my laser from Peter-S this morning, no money wanted so I am in debt to tune of a good bacon butty. Thanks Peter, much appreciated.
