Re: Wanted

Hi Steve,
I wish you al the best in finding your lost friend.
It's admirable that you haven't given up hope, although I suspect it's a long shot as the trail would have gone a little cold by now.

Sorry I can't help but I hope are able to get the information you need.

Re: Cologne track widths

Hi and welcome to the forum :welcome: What a first post! This sounds like an exciting project, although it's definitely going to take a lot of time and money! I hope you'll keep us up to date with progress. The standard mark 1 has a track of 51", according to the data in Jeremy Walton's book, s...

Re: Ford Heritage Archive Vault - Free

Thanks for the heads up, that looks great !
I only had a quick look but I can't find much info on the Mk3 Capri though. Perhaps more material will be added in the future.

Re: 3.0 Exhausts. Which ones?

I'm not sure what the lifespan of a mild steel exhaust is expected to be, but 15 to 20 years should be the norm, I would have thought. I've got the same mild steel exhaust that was on my Capri when I bought it 10 years ago. There's no sign of exterior surface corrosion. My Toyota has the original fa...

Re: Think about this for a bit 😂😂

On a slightly more serious note , wouldnt they be better off not knowing🤔 It's an interesting point and I originally thought the same, but changed my feelings about it. Perhaps the police have an obligation to inform victims that they'd been violated, even if they were unaware. I suppose the photos...

There's one on Ebay if you get stuck. Maybe a bit pricey though? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165880500770?hash=item269f3f9222:g:XbQAAOSwRbxjvvTa&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoEQKwkLfz0LIq8UL%2BwnGTid3cu2RJz%2Bk4YVBmhI2o7JmKnVprRurbQkHcleI8KRnamVW7YN5rjG5OqVuL0JxY4z75gNQNoHIAtyPV%2BLqLs%2FOkM3Fqm2Njp9dp2o...

Re: Indicator stalk

For reference, yes it does seem possible to repair (obviously not road tested yet but everything working as it should) and no it wasn't that difficult! Wish I had taken some pictures so show how easy it was in hindsight but will do that when I take the old spare stalk apart at some point in the fut...

It must be difficult to plan an event in show season to not clash with other shows.
I wonder if there are many Capri owners that usually attend both shows, and this year will have to decide which one to go to?
No contest for me!

CCI Nationals

The date for the CCI Nationals has been announced for this year and it's a few weeks later than usual, on the 21st May.
It's one of the most go-to shows for the Capri nut!
I'll be going and I hope to see some of you there.

Re: Fuel gauge not working

Thanks for replying, taking the sender out of the equation, shouldn't the two wires that go to the sender unit make the gauge go to the top if touched together? If so this doesn't happen when the wires are touched together. Hi Wayne, Of course, my bad. Have you checked that you are definitely...

Hi Wayne,
Although this situation can be frustrating, you've eliminated lots of possibilities, so you're definitely making good progress.
It's looking more and more likely that the sender itself is the faulty component.
