Re: Tickover Day Again....

Hi Nick,
Sounds great! What better place to take your car than Tickover? The chaps are sure to do a grand job.
You'll have your own reserved parking space down there before too long.... :D

Sorry Peter, I have no idea of the history regarding these cars. Perhaps the Police kept getting reports that the cars were stolen and dumped? It's a truly intriguing situation.

Re: The Ace Cafe 2018

B975GAV looks intriguing (Damn there goes my V8 thing again) It appears to have the same rear silencers as A304PAT. Nice looking exhaust and it suits both cars. I have seen a similar style on a Capri before, think it's custom made.....Definitely not Sportex or Janspeed! Hi Andy, Obviously I ...

Glad you go 'out' of the smog ok and back across the water to the safety of Wales  although I heard the Severn Bridge was closed due to staff shortage ? As Jason and others have said though was really good to see you in North London mate :) Hi Nick, Thanks to you, and all the others for your k...

Re: What a Waste!

. The Capri in the back of the xr4 pictures I can’t quite make out the number plate but it looks like a 1984 laser me thinks on a B plate . Hi Jason, Thank goodness for zoom lenses! It's a 1986 D reg 2.0 Laser. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/920/29389151168_4bef7273c7_k.jpg Ford Capri 2.0 Laser by ...

Yes, you are quite right Martin. It's too easy to get carried away with the apparent neglect of the cars, but there may be more to the situation than meets the eye.

You are spot on, Andy. The car nearest the camera is indeed a 1990 2.9. You're right about the wheels not looking as good as the 7 spokes.

Re: What a Waste!

Would it be worth knocking the door regarding the Capri in the back yard? If cheap enough it could be worth it for spares or to clean it up a bit and flip it. Probably Paul, yes. Although I'm quite averse to confrontation, so I'm too scared to go knocking. The Sierras and Capri are on a farm, I bet...

fordperv wrote:Presumably from the wheels and trim on those xr4x4 they are both 2.0 models?

It looks like it. According to howmanyleft.co.uk, there are only around 100 of that model still registered, so quite a rare car.

Re: What a Waste!

If you never intended using them again, sell or scrap them off. At least someone could have benefit from the spares, far too late now. There's a whole thread dedicated to this sort of thing on Retro Rides. The whole country is chock full of rare and expensive cars rotting on people's driveways. The...

Re: What a Waste!

Whether you like the cars or not, they don't deserve this treatment :( You have to wonder about the story behind them though. I bet most of these would have been restorable when they were parked. Not now though. I also came across this at another location that might be of interest. Three Sierras (2...

What a Waste!

This isn't Ford related, but it's an interesting find nonetheless..... We've all seen photos on the internet of abandoned cars rotting in people's gardens/ fields/ woods etc. I recently stumbled across such a site not far from home. There are some cars there that would be really nice, but now they a...

Re: What’s your favourite car show ?

I've just watched FantomWorks for the first time. I've never bothered before as the name put me off, I assumed it was about heavily modified cars. As it turns out, it's not really about modified cars and it's a great programme. It's currently repeated on Quest.

Re: The Ace Cafe 2018

Morning All, If I may, I'll add a few more photos from the day. They aren't as good as Nick's or Neil's, but hopefully there will be some cars there that aren't shown in the photos already posted. I'll separate the photos into three sections - forum cars, standard (ish) and modified cars. Where bett...

Hi Rob,
Just to double check, take the wire off the temperature sender and test the voltage there. That should also be 5V.
