The £70K Capri was mentioned on Radio 2 the other morning.
Owain Wyn Evans was waxing lyrical about this Special and how much he loved the Capri in general. Sadly he blotted his copybook by stating the car in question was a mark 1.

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon
They got an amazing price for that Laser, considering that it was far from mint. It looked to me like the winning bidder suffered a bit of auction fever... It's funny how the condition was bigged up and, unless I missed it, the hole in the roof by the hinge wasn't shown at all until the new owner me...

Re: Capri 2.8i metering head again
what's this ive seen about sesling the metsl diaphragm with shellac, that's nail polish Hi Kelvin, If I remember correctly, Peter has attempted a refurb of a metering head. Hopefully he'll be able to shed some light on sealing the metal gasket. I've not tried it myself so I can't comment much furth...

Re: Capri 2.8i metering head again
I take it you refurbished the unit yourself? From what I understand, it can be a bit of a fiddly task. If you're sure it's leaking fuel from the join of the two parts, I would have thought the only thing to do is to take it apart and start again. Are you definitely certain fuel isn't leaking from on...

I've put my clock under the driver's seat. That way, whenever need to drive somewhere, I'll always be on time.

Re: Capri Club Magazine Late?
The cost of CCI membership has been static for quite a few years now. I wouldn't be very surprised if, due to spiralling costs, that was to rise very soon.
The gold membership is inflation proof.
Perhaps Rishi Sunak knows a thing or two about economics?

Re: Capri Clock
But I was little bit disappointed with this book then. You buy this type of books to know how everything should be and then you find something, what isn't true for sure (or it is disputed)... So there could be wrong information in this book, so you can't rely on it for 100% no more. I wasn't happy ...

Re: Capri 2.8i metering head
Hi all, Can anyone tell me which fuel pipes go to which metering head port. 1.The one on the side nearest the radiator on the side 2. The one on top in the middle 3.The three on the side nearest the passenger wing side. I took them off and didn't take photos (silly me) Thanks Kelvin Hi Kelvin, They...

Re: Capri Clock
In James Taylor's "Factory-Original Ford Capri MKII & III" book it states this about the clock:
"The quartz clock embedded in the centre console always had yellow hands, even though the main dials had red hands".

Re: Sill hem color
Looking again at the black paint on the sill of that white car, it looks to me like a stonechip paint has been been sprayed onto the sill.
Because of the overspray that Andy mentioned and the non-even coverage, I would be almost certain that it has not been factory applied.

Re: Sill hem color
Is it Capri brochure or Ford Cars? And what color is that 2.8i? Maybe I have this brochure too. Hi Tom, It's a Capri brochure, this is the front cover. https://i.postimg.cc/sfHP1fJg/IMG-3052.jpg Here is the 2.8 photo that shows the sill: https://i.postimg.cc/qMdKNt30/IMG-3053.jpg A close up of that...

Re: Sill hem color
I've got a brochure from '83 that clearly shows a 2.8 with the sill hem painted in body colour.
My scanner isn't currently working, so I can't scan a photo, however, I'll try to take a photo in natural light tomorrow.

I haven't got a clue, but could it be some black rustproofing like Waxoyl sprayed on the sill?
