Here is the best thing about doin it yourself..." What colour and finish does sir prefer "? Re: Shocking news!

I think it's absolutely right that a "shocking" contravention of "train etiquette" is brought to worldwide attention. This is clearly more important than the continuing Brexit fiasco. There was I thinking we were a civilised country, however, it appears that we are nothing but savages. Obviously a s...

they have refunded me a £100 back .
Result! :D
That makes the total cost around £80 per wheel, and as Andy says, that's about the going rate for a quality job.

Hi,
According to the wiring diagram here, the yellow/black wire does not go through a fuse.

Re: Breakdown Cover

Well, I finally got around to doing the dance with the nice man from the AA. He did say that as I've only been with them for 3 consecutive years, I wouldn't be entitled to the same sort of loyalty discount that long-term members would get. However, a 16.66% discount was definitely worth five minutes...

Re: The last Brooklands

The 50th anniversary at Brooklands was a terrific event. Everyone I spoke to there recognised that the Surrey Club had done a great job organising it, but it was the Brooklands staff side of things that had left the side down. Sure, Brooklands is an iconic venue, but to be honest, I would have enjoy...

Re: Feeling better now

Hi Paul,
It's good to hear that you're well on the road to recovery and that the test found nothing serious.
It's surprising to think that a lack of one element of the daily dietary requirements can have such a major effect on the body.

Re: My wheels

Hi Jason,
The wheels look really good! I think you'll be happier with a powdercoated finish as it's much more resilient than painting.
It's a bit of a pain about the centrecap, but at least they didn't just slap it back on and hope you wouldn't notice.

Re: Correct colours

I had long enough to get them done just didn't think of it at the time :? I think the time to have it done is when the manifolds are new. I borrowed Andrew's photo of his manifold: https://live.staticflickr.com/835/43384591541_652097731b_z.jpg IMG_0506 by andrew harwood , on Flickr Doesn't it look ...

Re: Correct colours

A chap at the CCI Nationals had used stove paint on his manifold, that looked good and the paint had adhered well. Stove paint should be good for up to 600 degrees. For the ultimate long-lasting coating you can have the manifold ceramic coated. Andrew (arnoldhar) has had his done and it looks superb...

Re: Genuine Mk3 Parcel Shelf grey

hi, Wow, what a treasure trove you have there! I would suggest putting the items on Ebay. Make sure you write a detailed description and include plenty of decent photos. They will find their own level in the market, but I think it's safe to say there will be a lot of interest in these extremely rare...
