Re: Information on previous owners of D745 0DM

I've got a question about the DVLA data request. It's likely that some of the previous owners of a car have changed address since owning the car. When the DVLA supply the address details of those people, do they supply their address at the time of ownership, or do they supply their current address i...

so could be in a garage somewhere .
Or in a barn if the OP's username is anything to go by. :)

You can get details of previous owners from the DVLA for a small fee.

The Capri Club are fantastic, we would all be worse off without it.
I couldn't agree more.
I've got no issues with buying parts from CCI. As you say, where would we be without the likes of CCI, Tickover and CapriGear?

Re: Handbrake adjustment

I still think `up to 10 notches` is excessive though?. I agree. What's the standard required for an MOT pass? I always thought it was 4-6 clicks on the ratchet, something like that. The MOT man might consider 10 clicks as excessive travel. I appreciate that Haynes mentions 10 clicks as the maximum ...

Re: Wanted sunroof winder handle

The Capri Club were looking at getting the sunroof handles remanufactured. I don't know what's happening with that, it might be worth giving them a call to find out.

Re: Handbrake adjustment

It`s a bit bewildering as apparently there was a changed adjustment procedure for later models (presumably with the nylon adjuster?) TBH I wouldn`t have anything like this much travel but this is what Ford recommend. Is that excerpt from your Haynes manual? My official Ford Workshop manual, the ora...

Thanks Andrew, how far forward are the adjustment knobs?
They are at the rear end of the transmission tunnel, about a foot from where the cable joins the handbrake rod.

I would suggest downloading those wiring diagrams to your PC, don't rely on them being on that website on a permanent basis. Nothing lasts forever....

Re: Clutch cable

Top tip Steve, thanks. Yes, I know, and I drove it home - I just thought people might prefer to avoid being in that situation in the first place that`s all. You`re quite right though it`s really no problem. It's easy enough when the car is on the move, but it's a bit of a pain if you are in stop-sta...

Re: Handbrake adjustment

Hi Owen, Your photo shows where the handbrake cable attaches to the rod. You need to follow the cable towards the front of the car and you'll see a bracket where the cable goes through. There you will find two knurled plastic knobs, loosen off the locking one, then you can turn the main knob to adju...

I can't see the Fiesta driver stepping out of the car with a smile on his/her face, I'm sure the Cosworth driver will be grinning from ear to ear.

Hi Owen,
Welcome to the forum! :welcome:
The horn is located in front of the radiator. You'll have to remove the radiator grille (4 screws) to get to it.

Re: Mk3 2.0 laser restoration advice

The grilles under the bumper should be satin black, by the way. Are your current wings the original ones, or has your car had pattern wings fitted in the past? If they are genuine, if the area that is rusty isn't too big, I would probably go for the repair patches and keep as much rust-free genuine ...

Re: Mk3 2.0 laser restoration advice

Hi,
On a Laser, the bonnet lip trim, headlight surrounds and grille should all be painted body colour, in your case black, and the rear window trim should be satin black.

Somehow I suspected it would be.
I appreciate the seller's honesty with the listing, but the problem with humorous adverts is that they attract insincere bidding that the buyer won't follow through with. As has been the case here.
