Gonna get some araldite and a fire extinguisher fitted ASAP
Think a jubilee clip is more reversible than araldite is... would certainly make it easier to change the hose when ethanol (apparently) will eat it inside out
The araldite is to stick the fire extinguisher to the dashboard 🤣🤣

What do you guys recommend to use on the new alloys to protect the shiny bits?
This is very good stuff. Apply 2/3 coats for extra protection. It's a great barrier against brake dust.

Its good to see you back working on the Capri again.
The paint crazing was a bit of bad luck
Yeah not sure what caused it. I've rubbed it down a couple of layers now and I seem to be through it so hopefully that will do.

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Well.... it's been a while 😅 Still got the car but she's currently SORN. Been sitting around since January as that's the last time I drove it for the MOT and was sitting around for a few months prior to that. Just a change in circumstances and not being in town so I couldn't drive her. But I'm worki...

Questions about 15" wheels.

Did a quick search but couldn't find anything on this subject so thought I'd ask. If my research is correct, a 15" wheel will fit fine as long as it has an offset of ET-0, is that right? What is the best size of tyres to get, I'm looking at some 195 50's, but was wondering if there was anything bett...

Has the government got the money to subsidise this scheme considering whats going on? Is the magic money tree real then?
It's always real when "they" want it to be. For the rest of us it's just austerity.

Re: Thinking about lowering my car

https://i.postimg.cc/nLv3gSrW/20181005-065955.jpg For what it's worth I got Tickover to sort out my suspension for me as B112 was sitting too high for my liking. I wanted to replace the multi leafs anyway with singles so they fitted 2.8 leafs on the rear with 1.5" lower blocks, then 145lb front spr...

Thinking about lowering my car

Hello all, been a long time. Getting back into working on my Capri after abandoning it for nearly a year. Need to do some welding around the strut top and while I had the strut out I thought I could get some lowered springs fitted at the same time. :lowrider: Thinking of doing the back too. Currentl...

Re: Repairing Ford Rubber Spoilers

Mine was covered in about five layers of paint and primer. When I got it it was dark purple, under that was primer, and under that was metallic blue and more primer. It was cracking and flaking off, but the spoiler itself was intact. I've been slowly working on it for nearly two years, and I'm only ...

Re: Horrible Engine knocking

Yeah it definitely doesn't seem worth doing all that work to a pinto when you can have something more modern and powerful in its place. I love the pinto but if I had the opportunity I'd rather get something newer with more power out of the box rather than going through all that hassle to soup up a p...

Another vote for dislok here. I've had one since owning the car (coming up 5 years now) and it's great. I keep seeing them on other cars far more valuable than a Capri so they must be doing something right.

Re: My hot Capri

Mine used to get hot, it never overheated as I'd turn it off before that happened but it would hit the red on the temp gauge, did all the usual things to try and fix it including adding an electric fan and nothing worked. In the end I fixed it by fitting an upgraded race-spec aluminium radiator. Eve...
