Re: Anyone know anything about HID's?

Maybe they're wired in series rather than parallel? Half power to each? I think that's probably unlikely, but you never know!! (I'm assuming parallel would be hoe they're wired from the factory?) Perhaps, would explain the dimnes. I'm going to have a leccy take a look. Any ideas how many amps or cu...

45 for me, slipped on a couple of the yank hatchbacks that looked like Datsuns.

Re: Anyone know anything about HID's?

Bin those aftermarket HiDs, chaps, they're now a no-no That answers the question whether to convert to an aftermarket HiD kit. Perhaps the OP should try Osram Night Breaker bulbs instead. Andrew. I have those, still like having candles at times. High beam is like daylight, dipped beam is dangerous....

Anyone know anything about HID's?

Anyone here know much about High Intensity Discharge headlights? I'm seriously considering getting a set because my headlights are dangerously dim at times. I'm pretty certain they are working properly, they have good bulbs and are adjusted correctly, they just seem dull. I've upgraded them from the...

Yeah, depending on how much they are and if I can find one I might just do that. Cheers.

Re: Boot wont shut

Well that didn't last long. As with all good things in my life they never last, and now this heap of shite is back to being crap, if not worse than it was before. I've tried everything short of taking the headlining out and adjusting the hinges there, nothing else seems to work. Ugh. I'm just not g...

An annoying new "feature" of modern cars.

Has anyone else noticed this stupid new trend where some modern cars turn on their fog light upon turning? I thought i was seeing people driving with their fog lights on (despite it not being foggy, but you know what people are like) and one was broken, but as i paid more attention and saw more and ...

:xd: If I were you , my next post would be " My Capri does not make 400bhp ( at the wheels ).......help ", and then see what happens next time you take it out :burnout: Its very tempting. I did some tests earlier, and the fan did go back to being as useful as a budgie fart, but then i tur...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

So.... this is strange.... Today I went out to run some errands, and I decided to turn the fan on for what little air it blows out to help warm up the inside, and for some strange reason I can't possibly begin to understand the fan is working better than it has in years. I can actually feel the air ...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

You need a new motor then by the sound of it. Try Caprigear first. Then there's the joy of removing the heater box, splitting it, swapping the motor and putting it all back together. I used to get that done in a couple of hours, but had loads of practice. Budget a day and take your time. Tip for sp...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

Yeah theres not much air coming out of the side vents either. I mean its there, but nothing to the description offered on here. You get more air flow out of them when the car is moving rather than by the fan itself. Must just be a weak fan, can these be replaced or upgraded for something stronger?

Re: Boot wont shut

Lol, I haven't done anything to it because I haven't had the time, it's too cold to work outside, plus it's dark by 3:30 because this country is awful. However, since posting about this the boot has been shutting more easily, sometimes on the first attempt and I haven't even done anything! Lol Old c...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

If the fan is working at full speed it will actually start to clear the screen even before the water starts to warm up. In fact, on full blast, if you direct the flow to the footwell it very soon gets uncomfortable on your left ankle. If your issue is the temperature then yes, you need to look at f...

Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

The fan in my car is about as useful as a hamster with asthma blowing on you. The heating is fine, it's just the method of blowing said heat into the cabin that's useless. Obviously this doesn't make for the most ideal situation during the freezing winter, especially when the screen is fogged up. Is...

No snow yet here in "warm" Essex, even if it was 3 foot thick I'd still use mine, no choice it's my only car lol. I just tell myself it's doing what it was designed to do.

Re: Boot wont shut

Mine used to behave just as you describe. I messed around with it but eventually I replaced the tailgate lock on the inside and that fixed it. I've replaced the lock on inside as well, granted being an old part it could also be knackered but I'm more willing to bet on the tailgate itself being wonk...
