Hi again, Well, I can now confirm I did indeed get the wheel back on and since then I've racked up a few hundred miles.... Amazing weather and better roads at the moment!!! Anyhow, yes Rob, plenty of sealer was used and this has lasted, it looks no different now then when I put it back on. Yes, I th...

Hi Dallas, Great looking Capri there. As Andy has already said, I do think a nice Red Capri is one of the best colours, if not the best.... I did have a Red 1.6 L many years ago which I still have fond memories of... Hope to see this in the flesh once the World returns to normal.... Take care & chee...

Hi there, I'm not 100% positive about this one. But I've heard horror stories where the incorrect 'Thrust Bearings' have been fitted, wrong depth / thickness. So the fork does not push on these when it should... If you've been suffering with these problems for a while, when the guy fitted the new cl...

Re: Got out for a run

Hi Jason, Good to see you're getting out & about. I've been out most days now since Wednesday in the Capri or the bike and got some pretty good Dash Cam footage, just loving the empty roads, although they are getting a little more busy now. Anyhow, a quick pic of the Capri, https://live.staticflickr...

Re: Heat Guns

Hi all, These are great tools and any one doing any wiring in their Capri should own one!!! I've just re-placed a few of my speaker cables going into the front doors, which had corroded inside the doors. We use these at work too. Strip the ends of the wires you are going to join, cut a length of 'he...

Re: Project: Repair of Broken Metal Casting.

Hi Andrew, In my past life as a welder, I used to have to TIG, Ally cast chain hoist covers, quite frequently. I used a 5% mag rod, even tried 5% Sil rods, actually a whole selection of mixes , but Ally cast is full of air holes and its very dependent how good the quality of the cast is, how good th...

Re: Lock down jobs...

Hi Andrew, Danny, Yep, sometimes its these small jobs you can take a real satisfaction from, especially when they're not actually 'important' to the running of the car. Probably why they keep getting put off!!! :xd: :xd: :xd: Thanks for the kind words on this repair... Cheers guys, all the best and ...

Hi all, Well as we're all locked up in our own homes, I decided to get a few of those fiddly little jobs done, that you just never seem to get to... As you know I just got the dash bulbs all done, So onto new tasks. So as I have just recently had a new windscreen fitted, this seemed to stop the leak...

Re: Series/Box Sets Worth Watching

Hi all, I watched a German single series some time ago, which kept me on the edge of my seat, Deutschland 83 Thoroughly enjoyed that about Spy’s of all things in the Cold War. For comedy if it can still be found, Chelmsford 1 2 3 I remember it being very amusing. But then for the America stuff, Dext...

Hi all, So with the current crazy crap going on in the World, I thought I'd start getting a few of those niggley little jobs done. Re: Windscreen Cracked

Hey Danny, Best of luck fella, hope you have better luck than I just did... To check your tint, get a sheet of A4 white paper, open the door and put the sheet half behind the screen and the other half outside, the outside is white the inside will show the actual colour of the tint, which can sometim...

Hey Nick, Great news your happy with the brake upgrade. Re: Windscreen Cracked

Hi all, I’ve been following this with interest, as I just had to get a screen myself, I had the new seal from East Kent, but the only screen we could find was a Pilkington one, zero tint with the dreaded mirror pad in the middle. It fits a dream (small screen due to sunroof) and the car ain’t mistin...
