Re: Oil leak from rear axle
Thanks for the reply. I suppose it could be brake fluid. I just went for another look since I cleaned the area... its dripping even though the car hasn't moved at all . It feels "oily". Dumb question but is it obvious from a drip the difference between brake fluid & diff oil?

Oil leak from rear axle
Hello all Had my head under the back end just now and noticed a drip of oil hanging from the bottom of the brake drum. I then noticed the inside of the wheel caked in black sludge so its obviously been dripping down there for some time. Its oil... diff oil it must be. Ive cleaned it all up now so I ...

Re: Diff help please
Out of interest Wily, since I know nothing about this stuff... changing the ratio from one to another, do you like gain 0.5s on the 0-60 and loose 5mph on the top speed for example or am I wide of the mark. Would be interesting to know how it works in that respect.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Side Mirror
My 1982 2.8 LHD (French) has an electric passenger mirror with the toggle switch thingy sticking out below the dash ashtray. It looks standard and I "think" it is, but always wondered if that's a continental Europe option from the time. Anyone know?

Re: removing front valance from a donor car
I'd love to just get the car and have it trailered to my place for a couple of weeks so I can go to town on it. It was kind of included when I bought my 2.8 from the owner of a local garage (it was his car which he bought the donor car for parts for). he said I could take anything I wanted from it. ...

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase
Hello Neil. People are going to tell you its very difficult to answer this, there is quite a wide range of prices from low to high and everything in between. Pictures would help. I would start on the For Sale section of this site, there is a white 2.8 on page one for 3k for example. Have a trawl thr...

Re: removing front valance from a donor car
Thanks Steve that's pretty much what I figured but good to have it confirmed. Big Mike, thanks for your kind words. Actually I think I can take pretty much what I want from the donor car. I should take advantage to the max I think (though not sure where ill put the all the bits!). There is no interi...

For the heater, i recently installed a new motor all by myself by following instructions available on this site (bit too drunk to bother looking for them now tbh) but if I can do it... anyone can! Took me a full day though. Its great when it works though. Martin at caprigear can get you a new Bosch ...
