Re: Mk 1 Facelift Capri Conversion (pic heavy)

The engine and gearbox mounts have been vetted by a certifier in the past but i would be fairly keen to change the gearbox mount to be exactly the same mount type as the engine. The front crossmember was modified using 2.5mm mild steel,(same as nissan used) but its no longer carrying engine weight i...

Re: Mk 1 Facelift Capri Conversion (pic heavy)

Since the radiator popped through the bottom of the front valance, I modified it. I've never liked this much. http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae257/1uzfefordcapri/upload%20one/upload%20two/DSC00149.jpg It blended ok, but the design just doesn't look right (to me anyway) http://i977.photobucket.co...

Re: Mk 1 Facelift Capri Conversion (pic heavy)

The new location is a tight fit. I had to cut out the front box section to fit a radiator in front of it, and because I felt it wasn't worth repair the rust in it. I used a rectangle 2mm thick box section. http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae257/1uzfefordcapri/alternatormounting.jpg This made for l...

Re: Mk 1 Facelift Capri Conversion (pic heavy)

Dad finally parted with it in late 1998. Drove it for a year, crashed it, and parked it up til 2003. When I got it out it was pretty rusty, so from 03' til 05 under took rust work (no pics), and then started on the engine conversion in 2007. Bought a 1uz-fe (Quad Cam 4000cc v8) http://i977.photobuck...
