Ah, but do you have a million quid insurance liability package with Lloyds of London?!
What a load of bullshit... I wonder if the seller also flogs those electric supercharger kits?

Re: Anyone used M16 Replacement Wilwood Powerlite calipers?
I used to have Wilwood Dynalite 4 pots (would be similar to the M16 replacement type) on my 2.8 Capri and I can't praise them enough!
Compared to the standard 2.8 setup they were a revalation... I'm considering putting a pair on my current car (Sierra XR4x4) they were that good.

Re: just to settle an argument
If memory serves me correctly, the 1.6s had 88 bhp rather than the 72 horses found in the 'regular' 1.6 cars... at least that's what Ford Heritage magazine claimed.

Re: noise
I've found that if you have a word with your neighbours first & tell 'em to feel free to complain about the noise, they generally cut you a bit of slack - you might even find that they'll give you a hand!

I quite like Manta's as well (also VW Sirocco's, but don't tell anyone!).
I just thought I'd have a laugh: what with the date being what it is.

Step by step guide for Manta owners.
Typical Friday night in Manta world: Realise you are 39 years old and still live with your mum. You've seen places called 'pubs' on TV (your mates haven't told you about them. You don't have any - you drive a Manta after all). For the first time in your life pluck up the courage to go into a pub. Ap...

Re: bad language
This is something I feel quite strongly about. Maybe, just maybe if parents did THEIR JOB and actually took an interest in what their kids were watching or doing, we wouldn't have to have this debate. This is an adult enviroment where adults should have the right to express their own opinions - and ...

Re: Nottingham/Derby Capri buyer - help wanted
Sorry mate, didn't read your add properly... I'd be more than happy to give your Capri a look over and also give you a few maintainance tips. My first Capri was a 1.6 laser and it taught me a lot about how to handle a RWD car in the wet as it had stupidly skinny tyres on the back (think they were 16...

Re: Nottingham/Derby Capri buyer - help wanted
I'm near Nottingham myself - NG9 to be precise... If you are serious about looking at a Capri, send me a PM and I'm sure we can sort something out. I'll freely admit I'm not the best Capri expert in the world, but I've had 3 of 'em so I've got a fair idea of what to look for... I'm not sh"t sti...
Re: Exhaust
Many years ago I had an Ashley 4 branch manifold & 2 inch system with a 3 inch tailpipe on my 2L Laser - got it from Rally Design.
It sounded great and I was well pleased with it...
Stainless is always nice, it just depends how much cash you want to spend.

Re: 2.8i engine oil
I've always found the Castrol GTX for high (75,000) mileage engines is pretty good - used it in my 2.8 Capri and my 2.9 Sierra.
It's quite cheap in Tesco & Wilkinsons hardware stores.

As you say, it's not ideal but at least you are keeping your car on the road, so fair play to ya.

Re: I'm back
Stick a cossie V6 in yer sierra and the job'll be a good 'un! On a more serious note though, hope you get it sorted soon. Failing that, it sounds like you've got some nice bikes there: AE50? Christ, that takes me back. ('twas a country lane in Somerset, I was 14, and it fucking HURT! Ah, to be young...

Just got these rims for my black Sierra - what do you all reckon? http://i20.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/2e/21/5635_0.JPG http://i22.ebayimg.com/02/i/001/2e/21/519f_0.JPG I keep trying to save up for a capri, but as there don't seem to be any decent ones about that I can afford, the credit crunch is biting...
