I put the multimeter across two terminals on the relay then i turned on the ignition and got a breief reading so i know the switch is working in the relay.i will give the other things you said a try tommorow fingers crossed it might sort it ill give you an update,thanks again for all your help.

Yes its exactly the same as the one i took off and i even checked the old one with a multi meter and it works i just changed them over as i had one spare and didnt want to leave any stone unterned,thanks for your reply.

ive checked out the hazard switch and that seems to be fine,im completly baffled by this and really cant think of anything else to check

Hi does anyone know of a garage that specialises in diffs either in essex,kent or anywhere really.i took my 2.8i to tickover and had a rebuild done due to a whine,when i got it back it was no better,no actually worse i now have a diff whine and now a vibrating propshaft.i took it back and they said ...

this sounds like the man for the job i just need to get it confirmed that it is the gearbox thats causing this noise before i make a move thanks for your help.

im in essex but i dont mind traveling if it gets the job done i will give him a call and have a chat about it, want to get all sorted out before spring and summer,thanks for your help.

the gearbox oil is is ok as i recently changed the oil seal where the prop goes into the box,i defo get where your coming from as the noise isnt in all gears,think it will have to go to a garage and be checked out as i cant deal with a gearbox by the roadside i took one out on a cortina once never a...

the noise is in 5th gear 50mph is the worst i cant see the oil being low as i changed the back plate gasket a while back and refiled with the proper lsd oil.lol i had thought of turning the radio up but as advised i will get a specialist to look at it the guy i brought the car from recommended ticko...

Thanks for the advise on the engine oil for my car i went with the 10/40 in the end i rarley use the car during the winter months so this should be ok.

i am getting a whining noise sounds like its from the rear but cant be 100 per cent it starts at around 50mph and stops as soon as you come off the power can anyone advise on what this could be please.
