Re: 83' 1.6LS Aka Project Arabella

Know it's been a while but have you got any updates?? You aren't wrong it has been a while! Its ironic that I said "updates will come sooner and more frequent than 2 year intervals (hopefully)" and then two years later finally an update. Unfortunately progress has been incredibly slow, I ...

Re: Body Shell Bracing

Thanks guys, that's a great help and I'll crack on with it this weekend. I dont think I will be cutting the drivers side sill out but the passengers side has a massive hole running down the inner sill and I would rather be save than sorry

Body Shell Bracing

I have reached the point in my project where its time to start cutting and welding. However, so the rest of the body doesn't move or collapse, I want to weld some support bars into the shell before I start cutting. Especially as I plan on putting the shell on a roll over jig very soon. My problem is...

welded wing to front valance?

So the join lines between the front of the wings and the front valance has been filled. After removing a lot of filler I found that the join actually contained metal as well. Has this been welded together? http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t644/Rdowe1/IMAG1024_zps5se38qsr.jpg http://i1318.photobuc...

Where to start? rust rust and more rust

I will be honest it has been a slow start to my project, I finally have things in order and two weeks off at the end of may which I intend to spend on the capri. The major rusty places are light tubs, both wings, wing rails, the inside of the sills and spare wheel tub. Please take a look at the proj...

83' 1.6LS Aka Project Arabella

After becoming a proud owner of a Mk3 Capri back in 2013 and joining this forum I think it is about time I make a project thread so you can see what (little) progress I have actually made! As a mechanical engineering student I was looking for a project to work and learn on. I was a bit hesitant when...

Re: Ipswich Capri owners can you help?

There actually is an ipswich capri club, but they are quite small. They meet the first tuesday of every month at the ipswich dry slope ski centre at about 8-8:30pm. I've been up a couple of times and they are all nice guys so i'm sure you will be able to sort something out. unfortunately my capri is...

Water in the footwells

I've just started my capri restoration (post in project section soon) being my first project I am bit unsure on some of the body work side of things. So I have just taken the carpets out to find that the carpet underlay material (the matted fibrous material) were completely water logged. leaving wha...

Unfortunately it seems that the guy has just abandoned it. It's now sitting on flat tyres, gathering dust.

Ford Capri Racing on channel 4

'Motor sport' had some highlights from Goodwood 72nd Members Meeting. The first race in the program features production saloons made between 1970 and 1982, which is just full of capri's. Thought I'd post it on here as you don't often see a bunch of capris fighting it out on the track. It's currently ...

Knowing them not a lot, one of em struggles to buy a round of drinks and the other doesn't drive. haha you got that right, mind you being a uni student they have mor...

Re: Cherished number plate valuation help

Yeah, I wanted to see roughly how much it was worth before I do anything.
It currently stands at £105 to retain a number for a year, so there is little point if I wouldn't make that back

sourcing parts?

I've just bought a 1.6 LS as restoration project and was just wondering where is the best places to get parts from? In particular I need a new fuel sender, I have had a look on a few sites, like tickover and caprigear, with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
