Many thanks,
Andy.

Interior head lining
Hi everybody. I own a 1985 Laser on which I will soon need to have the head lining removed to have some work undertaken on the roof. (Rust bubbles and a refurb of the sun roof mechanism) Can any member give me any idea how much I can expect to pay to have a new lining made and fitted ?. Also, will t...

Speedometer drive cable
Hello everyone. I own a 1985 1.6 Laser. My garage informs me that I need a new speedo drive cable, since my speedo needle is not steady when driving, and tends to 'flicker' up and down !. Can anybody please advise me if new replacements are available, and where is the best place to purchase one ?. (...

Re: Refurbished steering rack sought
Many thanks for uploading the picture. The unit certainly looks the business.
When do you hope to fit it ? I would appreciate your comments once the job is done.
All the best,
Andy

Re: Refurbished steering rack sought
That would be really helpful. Many thanks.
My Capri isn't booked in for the work until 5th October. so I do have time to make up my mind, and then order the part.
All the best,
Andy.

Refurbished steering rack sought
Hi Everyone. I own a 1985 1.6 Laser with manual steering. Following a recent MOT, I had an advisory which indicated that I might soon need a replacement steering rack. I have contacted the Capri Club and Capri Gear, neither of which had any available. Tickover in Dartford does have a few, but are re...

Ammeter not working
Hi Everybody, I have noticed that recently the ammeter in my 1985 Laser has ceased to function. However, all the other gauges are operating correctly. Is this indicative of the voltage regulator being u/s, or simply that the ammeter gauge has worn out ? If it is the latter, can the unit be repaired ...

Stains on rear bumper
Hi Everybody. Just a minor 'problem' which I have been experiencing for some time. When washing the rear bumper of my Mk3 I end up with a white stain/residue which I can't seem to satisfactorily remove. I have tried T-Cut, WD40, black wax, and Autoglym polish, but to no avail. The best result I can ...

I used 'Chips Away' just once many years ago. In a word they were crap !. The paint colour didn't match, and the finish was poor.

Re: Front Springs
I had the front springs replaced about two months ago, on my 1.6 Laser. I was advised to use units of 1" lowered over standard, with a rating of 145lb/ft. The ride height is perfect and the compliance of the spring just right, ie. not too stiff. I had previously made the mistake of using 'stand...

Re: Taillight screw colour
For the wheel arch protection, after hosing, brushing down and drying, I like to use a good coating of traditional Waxoyl, followed up by Hammerite under body seal (which has added Waxoyl) which is slightly thicker. It dries to a nice matt black finish. It comes in large spray cans. It appears to be...
