Re: MK2 horn question
i would agree. Best test is to connect a pos lead and neg lead to the horn, try either way around if your not sure as you can't damage it due to reverse polarity. If its good you will get a constant sound. if not replace with new as they are as cheap as chips for a pair of different tone horns, that...

Re: Bilstein front suspension leg insert replacement
Thanks for your replies gents.
I think that i will pursue the Bilstein refurb route. I have been provided with a link from Andrew of which led me to a website called Gartrac. They have all the parts required to carry the full refurb so i will give it a go.
thanks again.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the info and link. After looking at this it looks a pain, but i will still probably go for it and get the bits from Gartrac.
cheers

Thanks for your reply, interesting theory but i thought the 2.8 legs were slightly different than the 1.6 & 2.0 versions due to power and engine weight, not sure of exact differences though, plus i would prefer to keep original legs if possible?
cheers

Hi Andrew, Sorry for not replying, as i haven't been online for a while as I've been doing quite a bit of work on the house so the Capri has taken a back seat, as it were, since the summer. Concerning your question, i do now have a smoother ride on take up of power since changing the centre bearing,...

Re: Advice wanted on Spring / Damper Combos.
Joshy, I swapped my springs with -1inch for my 2.8, but i cleaned and painted all the top mounts and strut legs. The problem i had was that the springs jump when i turn the wheel even with the plastic spring end covers fitted (make sure these go back to). Another tip is to make sure to add plenty of...

Re: Aluminium Radiator
Dave,
Apologies for not replying sooner, yes i fitted a kenlowe fan along with my ali radiator, all works sweet and quite easy to fit. By now i presume you will have your new ali rad from CCI, i am sure you won't be disappointed mate.

Re: Aluminium Radiator
Dave, I did purchase a CCI Ali radiator, as i was confident that it would bolt straight on and told that it would optimise water circulation over my old radiator, plus i will admit i wanted it to be different and stand out. It wasn't cheap though, when i bought mine it was around the £290 mark, but ...

Re: 2.8i Restoration my project ongoing
Following completion of my restoration in May 14, unfortunately i did not swap my clutch when i removed the engine and gearbox, as i had a CCI receipt for it off the previous owner, along with all paperwork from new, so i estimated the mileage of the clutch to be around 4k miles. I should have gone ...

Re: Project: CCI Repro Dashboard
Andrew, I am quite lucky as my dash is fine and not cracked, however i know its a major problem with all older fords, and mine is probably rare. I have just had my copy of CCI and i would suggest that you send your thread and comments to them for possible improvements to the new GRP product, and for...

Re: LSD oil change
Hi Neil,
I had my kit from CCI aswell, but i don't remember an additive, only the oil, gasket etc. The new oil sorted my diff no problem as i think someone had put EP90's in previously, not good.
hope you go on ok.
Mart.

Re: Brake problems
I renewed all my 2.8i brake pipes, braided hoses, shoes, drums etc. I used the eezibleed pump as well to pull the fluid through, start to bleed from the front, then work to the back, but keep the car level due to to the bias valve. If the car is tilted it won't bleed properly. When all fluid seems t...

Re: 2.8 bilstein strut top mount knocking
Thanks Gents. Neil, I bought my springs from burton Power and yes good fit. Not sure of problem prior to strip out as i bought the car then stripped it bare to restore!! All torqued up on the wheels ok, but only nearside seems to be a problem with the spring jumping when turning lock to lock. Andrew...
