Re: Pinto won't fire, it's got spark but no fuel
Mine did this and found the mechanical pump was at fault. Remember however it can take a while for a mechanical pump in a dry system to suck the fuel through. take the pipe off the bottom of the mechanical pump and put a short piece of hose on it into a fuel tank like one of those 5 litre jobbies, s...

Re: Best super glue on the market?
Can make most superglues alot better with a bit of bicarbonate of soda ;) At first I thought that this must be some kind of wind up, but after looking it up on the internet, it appears to be true. Thanks for the heads-up. next time I need to repair something I'm going to give it a go. Andrew. I can...

Re: Best super glue on the market?
Can make most superglues alot better with a bit of bicarbonate of soda ;) make the join and use lots of superglue. Then coat everything in bicarbonate of soda(yes the stuff the wife will have in the kitchen cupboards) and coat all the join. Then you can brush it off instantly and the join will be fu...

Re: Quick release steering wheel
I will be fitting a quick release to mine, but i have not found any that seem to have a good fit.
Going to get a boss wire eroded in time and then fit a decent quick release system to it. Bet it won't be cheap though!

Re: Undersealing
If the car has been always undersealed then it is good to top up for a time. But at somepoint, it is best to look underneath and see what it really looks like. I reckon 10years is a good point to strip back and take a good look and then it makes you more worried as underseal can also hide rot where ...

Re: Power steering is now a must
Not another one to repeat what is above, but the Corsa C conversions are very cheap especially if you source the main guts from a donor car and are willing to do work.
I am holding onto my scrappy Corsa C just in case there bits like that i need when i get my Capper going!

Re: No MOT.....
Since i own several cars which are exempt i actually feel it is a silly move, but it is just going to get worse. In one respect they are making it appealing, but in time i am sure they will use these excuses to get these cars off the road entirely! Common sense kicks in and we should say no, we do n...

Re: Mk3 Track/Race Car Build - Picture Heavy NOW!
Slight bit of an update, but a empty block & heads are coming within the next few weeks so it can be mocked up in the engine bay.
now just trying to find a tremec Mustang T5 gearbox to fit onto it so i can mock up the 302 together with the gearbox.

Re: Parking In Gear
Maybe the next day you tried it your engine lost it's compression! haha But obviously the lower the gear you go for the more torque there is so you need more force to overcome the resistance. Lots of factors could affect this, but you could have got the wrong gear, but you could have a warmer oil si...

Re: Leaf spring snapped
There is also a company called Stafford Vehicle Components than can source leaf springs, but i enquired with them about de-cambered springs for my Cpari and you can request this for additional charge and they will make them suitable for different height by flattening them out

Re: Important ! Ref fuel tanks
Since i was going to cut one up to fit around my watts linkage i will no longer be interested.
Please remove me from your list, that sucks but not your fault. Damn it, in that case for that price i will get an alloy tank done instead

Re: Mk3 Track/Race Car Build - Picture Heavy NOW!
New toys for the old girl.
Picked up a lifeline 2.25litre electrically operated extinguisher system.
Will now need to try and find a good place for it and the battery. Although I think it may either live in boot or just behind passenger seat.

Re: Coming soon. Brand new fuel tanks MK2/3
I am interested, i know this is going to sound mad, but to cut one up and resize to fit around a watts linkage on my Mk3. No worries or explosions on a brand new tank. Whilst it is open baffle it aswell. Seems very reasonable price.
