Mk3 3.0S Project

Hi, I have for sale a Mk3 3 litre V6 project car. Was running well until 6 months ago when I stripped the engine to fix two rust holes behind the scuttle panel (still needs attention). Engine, running gear and underbody are all fine. Change in job forces sale, if anyone is interested in a project, I...

Re: Capri Breaking recaro seats

Hi, are the seats (and runners) still available?

Thanks.

Re: Bulkhead Repair

Good idea, I will give that a go before I risk damaging the scuttle. Thanks very much

Re: Bulkhead Repair

Thanks for that link, it is pretty much what I had feared - the best repair would be to remove the scuttle box and repair from the engine bay side.
But is that the only way?

Bulkhead Repair

Morning,

I have two reasonably sized holes in the bulkhead of my Capri, leaking water into cabin. Does anyone have a recommendation for getting behind the scuttle panel to complete a lasting repair?

Thanks.

Re: Auto-choke or not to auto-choke

That looks nice and neat, if the auto-choke is beyond saving, I will convert! I will also stop ironing.

What's in the complete manual choke conversion kit?

You can get to nigecapri's workshop page by clicking the photo in his signature.

Re: Auto-choke or not to auto-choke

Thanks, your workshop page is very detailed. I will have a go at fixing the auto choke rather than converting to a manual straight off.

Re: Auto-choke or not to auto-choke

The cable was included in a box of odds, ends and spares when I bought the car. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Auto-choke or not to auto-choke

Hello everybody,

The auto-choke on my 3.0s doesn't work, so I found a manual choke cable to convert it. Is this an easy job or more importantly, is it a good idea to convert an automatic choke to a manual?

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Although, I have just flicked through chap280's 3.0s restoration and now feel severely under-qualified to continue working on mine...

Re: V6 Radiator

That's great news, I want to take the engine modifications out, so will be pleased to put an original radiator back in. On a side note, two radiators came with the car. One I suspect is the 'large header tank' variety, which has a split seam. The one in the car is from an automatic I think, but is s...

V6 Radiator

Hello,
I have started started trying to restore my 3.0s back to her former glory. Whilst I would like to fit all original parts, would an up-rated radiator be a good investment?

Thanks for your input!

New Capri Owner

Hello,
I am a new owner of a 1979 3.0s! It needs a little bit of work, but hopefully with some guidance from the forum, I can turn it into a reliable, ever-day car.

Still not found 'the one'. I guess it is harder than I thought to find the right Capri. Anyone want to sell theirs?

I am looking for a 1.6 or 2 litre Capri around the £2000 mark in the south of England. If you know of one for sale, please let me know!

Thanks,
