Re: Kent cam
I'm buy no means an expert but agree that the GTS6 is massively overkill - with a powerband of 4-8k revs you'll never see the benefit and will just be useless. The FR33 looks like it has higher specs than the Piper but again a power band of 3-7k is quite high when the reality is that driving around ...

Pretty sure you're sat on a flexplate worth a pretty penny there Peter! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-V6-2-8-C3-AUTOMATIC-FLEXPLATE-4-STUD-WITH-BOLTS-AND-SPACER-RARE-A4LD-/164421100143 I only paid £35 quid for mine last year  Blimey Dan, that's more than I paid for the engine! Re: Wanted: 2.8 V6 flywheel or starter ring
This is on the back of my spare engine. I take it to be from an auto but I assume the ring gear is the same - it looks it to me. DSC_0473.JPG If it's from an auto then I think it's more likely to be the flexplate that goes between that and the gearbox - I spent forever looking for one last year and...

I had similar issues with the GL - was always only running on 3 cylinders, took out the spark plugs and problem solved, now it doesn't run at all, but is a lot more consistent!

There are various excellent Capri manuals but yes, that is the Haynes you need, as per your link. I found this Haynes the other day which I think I'll need to invest in! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sex-Haynes-Explains-by-Boris-Starling-9781785216534-Brand-New/352952395617?epid=19036427828&_trkparms=...

I just assumed everyone who lived in Wales had sheep in their garden? Must be in the Deeds of the house to have sheep there, no?

Re: Hello...lost laser making a comeback
I think you've got more chance of being shot back to 1985 before you reach 118mph in a Laser particularly a 1.6
You must be planning some serious upgrades to be getting close to that??
I've thrown plenty of upgrades at mine and dont think its managed to get over 110

Re: Newbeeeee .....engine size change 1.6 to2.0
I know the rear drums are smaller (8 inch as opposed to 9 inch) will this be an issue or will they need up rating. In the real world probably not, front brakes do most of the work, rear are intentionally less efficient to stop them locking up when all the weight transfers to the front in heavy brak...

I believe you can get brand new fibreglass ones at a reasonable price, if that's any help to keep you and your car going. I got a fibreglass one on mine as at the time the steel ones were £800+ and I couldn't justify it. The fibreglass one was half of that and has worked a treat - fitted perfectly ...

That does look great!
When I sprayed mine I left all the adjusters in place so I knew that the lights were pointing the right way and wouldn't need adjusting again, but does mean that all my plastic bits are caked in paint - yours looks much nicer with the clean plastic

As Paul suggests - check they move freely first, I painted mine black to stop them rusting and no-one is going to see it anyway
