Re: Automatic transmission issue

The box is actually pretty reliable and usable to be fair! (In my opinion/experience) When you are taking about fluid levels, it is between the notches on the dipstick? I have had problems in the past from it being overfilled above that, but yeah for me I've fixed it with a new filter, new fluid and...

Re: 2.8i underbody protection

I've sprayed mine with either hammerite-waxoyl underseal, which has worked but not cheap, and on the other I just used Comma underseal which is black and was much cheaper.

Both easy enough to do with the car on ramps/stands/jack's/inspection out or whatever, as long as you can get under it and see!

Re: Automatic transmission issue

I've had issues before with the fluid being above max, but also when was it last serviced etc?

I changed the filter in mine and that made a great difference

Re: Flashing leccy light

Cheers all, the weather finally let up today enough to get out and look! The clip that secures the multi plug into the back of the alternator had somehow become disconnected at one end of it and was really loose, for now I have tightened it and clipped it back up, started the car and it's not flashi...

Ummmmm....
Both. Depending on how it feels.

I am trying to upload a video but it won't let me because it doesn't like the file extension so will try and upload it another way.

It does flash randomly at times, but other times it will fade in and out as various speeds

Flashing leccy light

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or what you'd all recommend? The two pod dash on the GL has a red light for what I guess is the alternator? But recently rather than staying a solid red, it will flash and do what it likes - is it an issue with a connection somewhere or a ...

Re: rear seat belts mk3

It's not a bad price for what it is, but I also wouldn't say it was cheap haha

Yeah I bolted mine in sort of loosely, continued to adjust it so it would work as it should, then got a torque wrench on it and tightened it up to the specs suggested in Haynes

Re: rear seat belts mk3

Previously I just got something like this

Appreciate it still isn't cheap but is at least new rather than old and mouldy!

I do love an open fire - my mum used to have one at her old house and it was lovely.
I always found the cleaning equipment made a better ornament as opposed to actually using any of it

Re: Most Expensive Capri ?

I know some people get excited about better-than-factory restorations and all that (and it is impressive) but its not something I really get, like trailer-ing cars to shows just for everyone to have a look at, then take it home after. This is being sold as an artefact to look at, and for someone to...

Re: Time

I can definitely relate - since I bought the 3.0 in 2019 I've barely touched it and it needs a full resto basically. I stripped the interior as it was quick and easy, dropped the steering rack and front suspension all by the summer of 19 and it's been sat on bricks ever since and I haven't touched i...

Re: Weber 34 ICH

I ran one of these for several years without any issues - but I was using it as a daily!
It may be brand new but that doesn't mean it's not faulty - Steve's check would be my first point of call, possibly could be a faulty jet if it's constantly letting fuel by when it shoudlnt?

Cheers

I mean, if it clears out the TOWIE lot I'm more than happy to let it go off!
Don't worry, the closest active volcanoes to us are either Vesuvius or that one in Iceland!

Almost, if we wiped out a large portion of the population surely less people would mean less global warming??
