Re: 6x4 front door speakers

I bought these, should be OK unless you've got some high powered system http://cpc.farnell.com/visaton/fr9-15-4ohm/loudspeaker-oval-4-ohm-9-x-15/dp/LS04224?ost=LS04224&scope=partnumberlookahead&exaMfpn=true&searchref=searchlookahead&ddkey=http%3Aen-CPC%2FCPC_United_Kingdom%2Fw%2Fsea...

Re: 6x4 front door speakers

So have tested and that bad base sound is only coming from the other door so I am a happy bunny and just thanks to this forum and John on my front door speaker . Also Danny it’s another add now to A4 list  Unfortunately for me yes it is, the front speaker in my GL has stopped working entirely...

Re: Show us your interiors

Not sure why I'm so surprised Andrew's looks so clean, but it does look spotless Andrew, love the shark grey interior, just need to get some recaro seat runners (or attack my current ones with a drill (not my first option)) and get my front seats fitted then I can join the wanna-be 2.8 club with the...

Can't believe it's taken me so long to read this thread but that interior looks awesome! Weirdly I don't have any of either of my two interiors currently but will try and get out soon to take some :)

Haha it's always the way! I split an A4 page down the middle yesterday to make a list of things to do too each car, both are full top to bottom already and I've only managed to do three so far :crying: It would be nice if someone just made an off the shelf stainless kit, it's quite annoying no one d...

Re: Wanted! S/S exhaust! Possible janspeed!

Hi Jason, yes I have the full CCI/Sportex kit (they are the same thing) and I got through one manifold in about 5(ish) years so am wary that they don't last forever, the one that I had to replace had rusted from the inside so nothing I could do about it really, but I will keep you updated with what ...

Re: Wanted! S/S exhaust! Possible janspeed!

I think I'll have to keep the current manifold then and go stainless from that back... I'm sure I will update accordingly!

Cheers for the help though guys :)

Re: Gold ‘84 2.0S running gear swap...

The easiest brake upgrade for 4 cylinder Capris is to go to the vented front discs and calipers from the 2.8i. A heads up if you decide to do this route, I dropped down 2.8 front discs to my local garage a while back while they were adding my carbs on and they told me you would need 2.8 front legs ...

Re: Wanted! S/S exhaust! Possible janspeed!

It does look lovely but I've just called them and slightly more than I can afford currently....! Hayward + Scott quoted £600-650 +VAT for the manifold back and the same price again for a manifold so around £15-1600 all in, and CCW said that they are too far away from me but the company that builds t...

Re: Wanted! S/S exhaust! Possible janspeed!

£350 sounds about right for the downpipe back. In my experience, the downpipes don't normally rust as much as the main system.....You might be able to get your Sportex section treated ? But as they rust from the inside it could be tricky :? :goodluck: anicola02 never did let us know how it went :( ...

Re: Wanted! S/S exhaust! Possible janspeed!

Hi guys, sorry to re-bump an old thread and hi-jack! I'm looking for a S/S exhaust for my pinto as the CCI/Sportex kit I have had keeps wanting to rust away and I'm getting mildly annoyed with replacing it every 3-5years... I've been looking for a while and looked into the Powerflow options etc. but...

Re: Lowering day now confirmed....

Ps. I might even have a word with Tickover about whether replacing the multileafs with singles is a good option ?? It depends what sort of ride you want Nick! My GL has multi leaf and is very comfy ride and absorbs the bumps much better than the laser which has single leaf springs, but hammering in...

Re: £15000 laser on eBay

 Considering that there is a lovely "one owner" 2.8I for £18k and also a nice black 3.0S (imported from Ireland) for £14k, I think I'd have to seriously question why someone would pay £15k for what I think we all have to admit will be less desirable, mainly because of the engine si...

If you owned your own garage and you have the tools already, then if you bought the right car ie; Nothing that needed major repairs, cheap enough price, easy to get spares and at a sensible price and something you could sell on, Mk1 Ford Focus, Fiesta, Astra, Corsa C maybe......I think you could ma...

Re: What’s your favourite car show ?

The fact that they turned around one of them and sold it on for £800 within five days seems pretty cushty for a week's work! To use your example of Gus and Will's £800 profit in five days, remember that is for two people to share between them. Then there's income tax to pay, workshop rental (not di...

Re: What’s your favourite car show ?

Allegedly the Capri was the only car they lost money on Not so, according to Wikipedia. They lost £245 on the Capri, £770 on a Suzuki SJ, £2325 on a VW T3, £85 on a Mercedes 190E, £35 on a Range Rover, £75 on a Jaguar XK8 and £3107 on an AMC Pacer. Of course, as noted previously, the real-world los...

Re: Undersealing

If the car has been always undersealed then it is good to top up for a time. But at somepoint, it is best to look underneath and see what it really looks like. I reckon 10years is a good point to strip back and take a good look and then it makes you more worried as underseal can also hide rot where...
