Re: Electric aerial not retracting

Hi Danny, mine did the same, took it apart & the gears had worn inside. Don’t know if you’ve got the same issue on yours. It wasn’t worth fixing so bought a new one on eBay on Martin’s advice. There’s plenty about & they’re not expensive, probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it’...

Electric aerial not retracting

Hi guys, Yet another day goes by and something else goes wrong and gets added to the long list of things to do! I turned the radio off yesterday and the aerial refused to come down, have tried to turn it on and off repeatedly and the motor still whirrs trying to send it up and bring it down again, b...

Re: Project Boot Resto - UPDATE 12/9/2018

I didn't think you were supposed to undo bolts/nuts with a torque wrench. It's not something I'd heard of before? Top search on google says "7. Using torque wrenches for undoing So long as users operate with caution and do not exceed the maximum torque, most torque wrenches can be used for und...

There are four on ebay at the moment, £25+PP, and £30 and £35 that need refurbishing - the cheapest one at £5 has already been refurbished! What a strange market for used parts

What exactly is required to change the cam over or is it a simple replacement?

Many thanks!

As far as I know its just a straight swap, set the valve gaps and you're away - but don't take my word for it

:agree: This is exactly what I've done on my 1.6, had it rolling - roaded and was pushing 103bhp so well worth it!

Re: Dash Speaker ?

Hi, Same on L spec, no door speakers, one on the dash. Thanks Tom. You really do make proper use of those speaker holes then. They are not just for 'show' as on the later modes. When i bought my first Laser many yrs back I always presumed there was a speaker underneath the 'speaket holes' till i wa...

Re: Nice mk2 2.0GL on ebay

Even easier than that - don't buy it and buy another car for the same money that is in much better condition?? £15k would get a lovely 2.8 3.0 these days True, but we're all getting hot under the collar about the price. At the moment, we don't know what the starting price of the auction. The £15K c...

Re: Best exhaust system

I imagine they do fit o/e, and the CCI include the clamps too whereas the others don't... CCI often get criticised for their prices, but actually, the club system looks like good value for money. Especially with the discount for being a club member. Andrew. I'm inclined to agree, I think I ended up...

Awkward one really.... Do you drive it, increasing the mileage and risk losing ££'s...Do you address the rust issues losing the originality or leave it as it is :headscratch: Even easier than that - don't buy it and buy another car for the same money that is in much better condition?? £15k would ge...

If you don't want anything too loud, stay away from the Sportex system with the 3" tailpipe though.

What are his prices like? Sadly, a custom made radiator is probably Danny's only option. Andrew. I haven't looked at getting a new one made up, but the chappy did quote me £128 to recondition and re-core the radiator I already have - the cheapest quote I have received so far out of the four I got! ...
