Re: Laser + GL and now a 3.0S!

More playing in the sun yesterday! Managed to get both front legs off the car and the front anti-roll bar which I also sprayed up. Also had a play with my shiny new welder, didn't want to risk ruining my own car mind so had a whack on my dad's exhaust instead  Safe to say I did a pretty ugly jo...

Re: Horn wiring

This website is very helpful with fuse wiring, here is a link to horn specifically

If you have a multimeter it's worth testing that the positive is getting a feed

Re: Laser + GL and now a 3.0S!

So the MOT is due soon (booked for Tuesday) and I knew that the handbrake was a bit off and needed to be adjusted like the GL did a little while back… Bank holiday, in the sun, why not?? Stripped back the drivers side, all working inside the drum, great. Stripped off the passenger side and the adjus...

Re: Looking for body kits for MKIII

Well, I'll try to reach them and we'll see. Meanwhile I manage to get some parts but still looking for rear spoiler, which goes under rear bumper Have a look at their site here https://www.capriclub.co.uk/Mk_3_Body_Kits__Spoilers--category--42.html Bit of a way down but looks like they have a lot o...

Re: Dixie air horn wiring ( realy)

Of course, in the case of musical horns, they couldn't be wired to the horn push switch anyway, as they aren't road legal and would fail the MOT. Caprikid61 is absolutely correct to have a separate switch to operate the airhorns and to wire them using a relay. Andrew. That's true, the ones on mine ...

Re: Is CCI website down again...

I noticed a new exhaust called the beast or back box is this new . https://www.capriclub.co.uk/Beast_Back_Pipe_for_Performance_System_Pinto--product--722.html I think that is a new product, I've never noticed that one before. A 3" tailpipe with no silencer will be quite loud! Do we know anybod...

Re: Dixie air horn wiring ( realy)

The 3litre I just got has air horns on it but only requires one positive feed to work - I wired it straight to the original horn wiring positive but added an in-line fuse as well - not sure if that would be an (easier) option for you?

Re: Headlight Bulbs

I'm not sure how I feel about these bulbs... I bought the second most expensive option (£17 Phillips) for the laser and they are a brighter whiter light but I still think they're crap overall - it hasn't revolutionised my life in anyway and I still wish they were brighter. The only plus I've had was...

Re: hesitates/jerking at low speeds

I'm with Jason on this. If the car was running perfectly well before, the chances are that there is an issue with something you've replaced. The first things I would check is that you have put the leads back in the correct order and gapped the plugs correctly. Andrew. If everything else has gone ba...

Re: hesitates/jerking at low speeds

Sounds like the timing is ever so slightly out - my first point of call would be to check the points gap and that the timing gear is set correctly
I had mine set to 6 degrees and it was OK, changed to 8 and made a world of difference!

Re: Laser + GL and now a 3.0S!

Probably best to get a complete A-pillar repair from Express panels for that Danny. I think they're on offer at the minute. https://www.steelpanels.co.uk/products/ford/rh-a-post-repair-m1s3/ Meant to ask but have you got the gear linkage sorted on the GL now and how is the rebuilt engine doing?
