Yeah, I mean you`re right, there was no damage. In any case if it HAD set fire to the garage and blown up the car I`ve owned for 38 years they`re only things at the end of the day aren`t they? Really I should just let them have their fun and shut the fuck up shouldn`t I ? Absolutely done!

Thanks Andy - I start thinking I`m just a killjoy/ OCD sufferer - but I watched this all night on CCTV I was so worried in case anything went up in flames!!! I AM looking into options for next time  , apparently it IS illegal to let them off in a street/public place, so that`s one, trouble is ...

Hi, last night the people in #18 decided to have a little firework show, a dozen people in the yard, drinking, weed and setting fireworks. I say fireworks, more incendiary devices - right outside my garages (you can see the roof of one centre screen). This is ONE firwork shooting up what, 12 feet? :...

If I ever did need any body restoration, I know a lad in Stockport who`s very fastidious: I`ve seen his work & it`s excellent

Re: Replacing Type-F 4 speed Transmission, 2.0 Capri
I`ve got these from a standard starter: 1st is from face/bellhousing point to inner edge of pinion; 2nd is same but pinion extended. 10 teeth BTW. and they`re about 20mm long. So (when energised) the furthest point of the pinion is about 43mm or 1 3/4" away from the mating surface https://i.pos...

Re: Wings
It makes sense really, if you havethe skills (or know someone) as 95% of the panel is usually solid, it only needs very specific areas replacing. I`ve often thught it might be better to use parts of an aftermaret as repair plates for the original wing. Especially considering how hard it can be to ge...

If you do think it`s broken, I`d definitely go to a timber merchants first, the Mercedes price will be extortionate.

The keyless entry thing is the most ridiculous use of tech ever: all the demonstrable problems, just to save putting a key in a lock`??? What a joke.

Re: Tracking devices
I know it's awkward if someone else owns the garage, but a bollard or door defender maybe better as a visual deterrent and making it hard to gain access! If it was possible, myself and my neighbour have used these: you`ve got to dig a hole and concrete it into the ground but they`re really solid, a...

No Paul, this is a straight radio trasmit/receive, works direct - but I do have a direct line of sight from bedroom to garage. Any further/obstacles it would be a problem. Ther4e are GSM alarm things which may be better suited as you suggest.

Yeah, but some protesters will probably sellotape their heads to the side of the volcano or something.... Bloody luddites! Some people just cannot accept progress. OK, in 1816 the pursuant famine DID wipe out most of the population of China, and resulted in Typhus decimating the population of Europ...

Global Warming
With all this fuss, electric vehicles, heat pumps, homeless polar bears, meetings of world leaders etc there is a rather obvious solution that would solve this within a year or 2. I`m sure if President Trump was still in office, he`d sort it. The following refers to one of the largest ever volcanic ...

Re: Tracking devices
You could also put the car on axle stands and take the wheels and jack home. TBH, if the Capri`s off the road for the winter I DO actually put it on stands to protect the tyres: the fronts come off and I put stands under the hubs so the suspension is `rested` if you see what I mean. I just haven`t ...
