Re: Shocking news!

What happened with the drone attack on the crude plant recentl Good question. It seems the planes/missiles came from direction of Iran? It`s another Middle Eastern war, fought by proxy involving various external political & idealogical entities. On the night of the attack America was "locked and lo...

Shocking news!

Just found this news story on AOL, this is absolutely shocking I think and is causing major upset in the Facebook community: frankly - I can see why. I found it hard to believe that this sort of thing can happen in the worlds 5th richest economy. You have been warned! https://www.aol.co.uk/news/2019...

Re: Prolblem with my Capri 2.0 pinto

Only thing I can think that you`ve not changed is the ballast resistor wire. I assume this will warm up in use, expand, and after a certain time could go open circuit. You can get 1.6ohm ballast resistors on ebay for a couple of quid, worth wiring the coil via one of them as an experiment? Cannot th...

The hunting issue is a weird one, most of the time it starts to hunt almost straight away on startup, but now and again it will start up fine and not hunt at al Just a thought but, re. your other brake problem possibly being a servo issue: a leaking vac. hose could not only mean no servo , but also...

Re: Hi Spec 285mm brake woes

Sounds like you have no vacuum coming in has the pipe spilt or come off ? With the engine off, try pumping the brake pedal 3 or 4 times to deplete the vacuum in the servo, then, with your foot firmly on the brake, start the engine. You shoukd feel the pedal sink as the servo kicks in. If not it sug...

Re: Correct colours

I'm pretty sure the drums were satin black - but only one thin coat applied! New manifolds weren't painted, just a light grey colouring to the surface which went rusty after a month or two anyway. I`d second that, I`ve had from new and the drums had a very thin coat of matt/satin black. Getting any...

Re: heard it all now....

All of the air time being given to women's football I find hard to understand. I mean, is anyone really interested in that? I Paul, don`t forget there`s also women`s cricket and even women`s rugby now! TBH I think, in the beginning you had TV, with 2 channels , and you could put good plays, good fi...

Re: Radiator Coolant Level

there should be nowhere for air to enter the system, if you get me? As long as the cap`s seals/valves are in good condition That could also explain why you were getting that `air gap` in the top of the rad. Make sure the one you get is identical to the one you remove, as it`s not just a pressure re...

Re: Master cylinder

If the pistons etc are corroded it`s 99.99% certain that the bore will be pitted, the bore usually goes long before there`s any damage to pistons in my experience. I really wouldn`t chance it. Best solution would be a known good unit from Martin, CCI etc, or if you DID find pistons, you can get the ...

Re: Optimistic!

I always think it`s a shame when you see a neglected, beaten up old shed like that. Once somebodies brand new pride and joy, now look at it. I still wouldn`t give `em £270 for it, Christ knows what the underneath`s like.

Re: Agreed value insurance help

If you didn't know about a cam change then you can't declare it This is a thing I`ve thought about myself. If you buy a modern car, esp. with a turbo, it could have been re-mapped by the 3rd owner prior to you to give masses more power, of whic h you may be completely unaware. How would an insuranc...

Re: Agreed value insurance help

IIRC, they weren`t bothered about the carb but did increase it very slightly for the 4 branch manifold. AS said, failure to declare could come back to bite you.

Re: heard it all now....

TBH Peter I had to think about that myself - it`s in such common usage you don`t really notice it. I suppose you could argue that that`s how language evolves. It`s still wrong though. Come to think of it, I remember when my `sort of adopted son` was at primary school, a teacher `corrected` his spell...
