Re: £75000 Capri

Amazing how with these OVERSOLD cars you automatically get a history lesson! Anybody thinking about paying this much for a capri really doesn't need the patronising write up.. Hehe that gets to me too. 'These cars are getting rarer everyday' 'You have to expect minor issues with a 40 year old car' ...

Re: Sunroof - What Can Happen

Thanks for the replies. I did hear it running as the owner took into into the show ring, it did sound good actually and I had a brief chat with him and he said it runs well it's just all the other work which needs doing. A few more pics from the same rally, the first one being the Sierra interior - ...

Re: 2.8 injection engine re build

For the first time I have said that’s it I have had enough I’m selling my Capri. Ongoing difficult to fix issues can make you feel like throwing in the towel, selling it, moving to another planet and donating your body to medical science but keep trying, people are in proper turmoil all over the pl...

Sunroof - What Can Happen

This was at a rally/show I went to recently. The car was actually put in the auction and reached £1200, which wasn't enough for the seller/owner. Scary at what can happen to a sunroof.

Re: hardened valve seats

from my personal experience it hasn't happened - haven't used any additives since unleaded was introduced here in the UK and I haven't had an issue as of yet. Wayne That's good to know Wayne, and I've seen that said numerous times. When I see pics such as the one posted, I tend to think is it just ...

Re: Capri Club Magazine Late?

Instead of constantly bitching owners should be thankful for the parts suppliers but in my experience it simply isn't that way. Well that isn't my outlook, I've often championed the Club and said how worse off we would be if it folded. I know that Andrew feels the same, so that's at least three of ...

Re: hardened valve seats

The other option is just to drive it with no additive and save your money, you may never need them doing anyway. If the time comes in the future that you wish to have it done, the money you have saved will easily do it I should think. And you may never even need it doing in any case.

Well, apparently you have a gardener, butler and a maid, so I guess that a few hundred quid for parts is nothing!

Re: Capri Club Magazine Late?

:D How long have you had that for Andrew, is it a recent purchase? Yes, at the renewal the year before last, I think. I've still got some time to go before I break even! Andrew. I must admit, I've thought about it a few times, and in hindsight (which is a terrible thing!) I wish I had done, as I'd ...

There's been a couple more flyovers at one of the shows/rallies I was recently at, always brilliant to see.

Nice pics Jon, thanks for taking the time to do so. I agree with you over the MK2 Capri's, I like them also, they do grow on you the more that you see. And that 'last ride' comment, very poignant, something we shall all have.

Re: Capri Club Magazine Late?

That's interesting, I guess the Gold membership ones get sent direct from CCI then. I'm not sure, perhaps it's sent directly from the printers. Could be, it's just that every time I have had a replacement sent out it has been in a brown envelope also, and I think Sally sends those out from the offi...

Anyone else bothered by the fact that the magazine is usually sent in a see-through packet, from a privacy/security point of view I mean?

The postman only comes here once a year.

Again, that beats mine who often comes, never! I could be doing him a disservice actually, if it's CCI at fault, so judgement shall be reserved.
