Re: Unregistered 280

Thanks for all the replies, interesting stuff. As regards to the torture of having it but not driving it, the owner also has other Capri's, again they have some provenance, but are driven to some degree so it's not as if the owner is starved of Capri driving. Still not sure I understand how/why a ca...

Unregistered 280

I know someone (in the flesh), who has an unregistered 280 Brooklands. But I don't understand, why would a Capri remain unregistered? Would someone have bought it unregistered (if you can even do that) back in the day and simply not registered it for collector's sake, or would it have been a dealer ...

Re: Who Remembers?

With this 1970's type heatwave we are having I bet some of these still remain in use. Back in the day they would have been everywhere in this nice weather. I still have a couple of the similar type single chairs :) Nice and bright 70's colours. Stay happy. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DbllEE5XcAEYvMR...

Re: Bonnet Stay Grommet

Just noticed this. I have the grommet and the two different clips in stock. I did have a look on your website Martin but didn't see them listed. However, with them being so easily available all over the place, I didn't think it necessary to bother you with messages/e-mails, etc. Thanks for the resp...

Re: Bonnet Stay Grommet

Well I opted to go for the same one which Andy linked to, as I know it would be ok and thought the extra couple of pounds to have a spare clip also was worth it. Thanks again for the replies :)

Goodness me, Dave Prowse is 83! Bet kids today would just laugh and swear at a Green Cross Code man. Then throw bricks at him.

Re: Bonnet Stay Grommet

Thanks for the replies :) Good tip with the boiling water trick. Does anyone know if the MK2 and MK3 grommets are the same? Retroford seems the best price if so, just £2.85 with postage.

Bonnet Stay Grommet

The round rubber/plastic bonnet stay grommet/bush thingy on my laser has decided to disentegrate. Anyone advise on where to get a new one please? I can find them all over the internet but defintely have better success with parts from recommendations on here. Nice and cheap at places like Burton and ...

Re: Who Remembers?

Our Tesco has big spaces but most Supermarkets the spaces aren't wide enough to open your doors enough. The Sierra stays well away from any carpark  Hi Andy :) Yes, I know, there just isn't enough room, car parking spaces in most places are the same size, brand new garages are the same size...

Re: Who Remembers?

If only supermarket car parks were like this now instead of being jam packed with oversized ugly but fashionable SUV's and not an inch to spare.

These cars had so much character, so many different shapes and sizes.

Thanks Jason. I know, quite bizarre isn't it, to think that any Capri was once one of the world's fastest cars!

Tickford Advert

Love 'em or loathe 'em (opinion seems pretty evenly divided on these), the Tickford Capri is a very striking car. And one of the world's fastest cars? Didn't realise that. Original advert which I saw recently, below - https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/31355642_1909941619040340_5795957356...
