You aren't wrong! Just did the maths, if you went and ordered one of everything off that list, it would set you back £3.65, basically the cost of a pint almost exactly!

And what a night out that would be :)

Re: Fuel gauge not working

The Speedo does have to be illuminated, I don't think that's a new thing, my tester mentioned it a year or two back, telling me that the bulb had gone but he will let it go. But it hadn't gone, he just didn't notice it was actually illuminated!

Thanks for all the responses. I never thought about decimalisation, that must have been one of the first 'new' price lists following that.

Re: Who Remembers?

Isn't it amazing how prices just keep rising and rising and rising. As well as the cost of living, wages, and so on. Why doesn't it all stay the same? In another 40 years will a pint of beer cost £100? Anyway, anyone fancy a Guinness, although it's one of the most expensive, at 16p I'll treat you :)...

Re: Front spring not located 10mm out.

My MOT tester did something similar once, when he discovered the spring wasn't sitting in the cup properly at the top. With the limited space in there he used a selection of vice grips to take the tension off the spring at various points, then manipulated the spring into place (didn't loosen any bol...

Just the overall putting down of the Capri in general, see it on here loads, always gets to me that. I mean, the Capri was made on a budget from old Cortina parts?

But, each to their own :)

What a coincidence....Had to replace mine last week, got it from this seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gen-Ford-Bonnet-Stay-Prop-Clip-Grommet-Fiesta-Escort-Sierra-Rs-Turbo-Capri-Xr3i-/183300606406?oid=183288958366 Didn't need the clip but will come in useful at some point I expect. Just realised I...

Of course, thanks Paul. No wonder young people today seem to fed up and angry, they've missed out on the best things ever :) And similarly, no wonder a lot of young people are getting into retro, good on them.

You could use a compressor also, very handy to have actually, find myself using mine far more than I thought. Keep a look out for Aldi stocks, they do an excellent 24L model, at that size they are portable also.

Re: 1.6 laser brake upgrade

Things have moved on. Modern cars have bigger calipers and discs for a reason. Someone people actually get enjoyment from upgrading their cars, and making it better than Ford intended. Let's face it, the capri was made on a budget using lots of old cortina parts. Plenty of room for improvement. Alw...

Re: Who Remembers?

The UK's first McDonald's opened in November 1974 You beat me to it there Andy. I do know that 1974 was actually a very profound year, as most were in the 70's. For example as well as the first UK McDonalds, we saw the first VW Golf and it was the birth of Happy Days and the Fonz. Mud were the best...
