They have Paul, according to their FB page it's gone to a chap who also has a Tickford....

Have you seen his (I assume) mansion on there too!

Re: Surface rust & brake warning light

I know someone who used to spray old oil or WD40 on rusty bits until they got around to fixing them. Yes WD-40 definitely works. If you see rusty bits coming through douse them in WD. Just dab it with a cloth after spraying (a WD-40 soaked cloth works wonders for cleaning too), as you don't really ...

I believe this to be the logo for the aborted Capri 500.

I member the Ewbank, it seemed to get used quite often as I recall. Did they actually really pick much up though, I'm not so sure!

Re: Is it possible to upgrade the in car heating fan?

When I changed mine I bought a complete box, ready to fit, from Tickover. (£70 I think it was). Easier than getting a motor and opening the box to swap it over. Might be a better option for you, as I know you drive the car a lot and you may want the quickest option, took a few hours to fit, at a lei...

Re: Who Remembers?

Can you imagine the chaos if shop assistants etc had to work out how much change you're due without the till actually telling them? I've found myself telling the operator how much something is and how much change I need back far to often than I should be doing! Do they still teach basic maths in sc...

Re: Who Remembers?

So is cod & chips still at 70s prices Unfortunately not! It is surprising how quick the old till is. The amount of time I've been in a shop with an all singing modern system and the person is trying to fathom this or find the touch screen for that. And it's all chaos if they make an error and t...

Re: Who Remembers?

Whilst in a local shopping centre recently, I noticed that the staff of the Argos closed the shop completely with a handwritten notice on the door. The reason? Apparently their in store network/pay system/computer had gone down and they wouldn't or couldn't (probably didn't know how to) even allow p...

I have other Intermotor parts, such as points, which have always been great, just that coil I had trouble with!

Same here Jim, the brand new Intermotor one I have would make the car randomly cut out. Put the old one back on and no problems since. Sorry that's not much help but I second your Intermotor coil thoughts!

Re: Garage Heating

Thanks for the response Andrew. I've been looking around at info on the Sealey one, and an Amazon for example there are a lot of reviews, all very favourable, even poeple with large double garages with high ceilings (therefore always very cold) are saying how great it is at keeping the area so warm...

Re: Mr G

anyone remember Love Thy Neighbour from the early 70's? I got the complete series box set a little while ago Paul. Incredibly funny, very enjoyable. And not one sided 'nasty' as some people like to proclaim. The banter (as that is what it was most of the time) between the white and black guys was g...

Was there a trend of kicking them with a side swipe to 'christen' them with a black smear, as there was in our school. Used to drive me mad that.

They only made 12 episodes of Flowery Twats. As opposed to around 85 Allo Allo's, which might be one of the reasons.

You will end up changing the mechanism on the inside of the tailgate. Mine used to behave like yours, changed that and been great since, think you can still pick them up cheap enough and it's easy to do.

Re: Who Remembers?

Later on about 15 years old, I would write my own sick notes and forge the old mans signature  Reminds me of the scene in Please Sir, where one of the kids did something similar to go on the school trip. I remember a kid in our class doing his own absent note, it was scrawled on a messy bit of...

Re: Who Remembers?

My school also made you do PE in underpants if you "forgot" your PE kit and you sometimes would get wacked with a plimsoll for not bringing it. In Rugby one of the teachers would join in the scrum and would conveniently accidently touch student's balls whilst in there. Times were differen...
