Aren't there companies who can fix these screens, Mike Brewer always seems to find them in TV magic land.

Re: Bonnet strut

Yes, it sounds cheap I know, but yes, I do love making things. I have the metal lying here and when the one for £37 arrives I would immediately say to myself ' I could have made that in five minutes and spent the money on petrol !! '. So there it is. So if anyone has the measurements !!!! Yes, back...

Re: Bonnet strut

That's what I thought, why not just buy one as they're so easily available. Unless it's for the joy of making it which is fair enough.

Re: Engine Cutting Out

Yes, sorry that's where the confusion is, original coil connectors cover it all up. And yes, I think we're all getting the forum errors at the moment.

Re: Engine Cutting Out

Sounds to me like it could be the ballast resistor, as it gets hot the voltage is dropping to low. Try a 12v coil straight from the fusebox or a separate ceramic ballast and a power from the fusebox. Thanks, a good friend made a ballast resistor up for me some time ago, I'll see if I can connect it...

Re: Engine Cutting Out

, I'll have to find a way of connecting the meter while the coil is still connected somehow, My meter came with optional crocodile clip probes, you could just use a couple of miniature crocodiles? Or a piece of wire inserted in the female plug before connection? There are no visible terminals to co...

Re: A bug in the forum?

Mainly seems ok for me. It has been occasionally buggy for a few days though, coming up with errors when trying to post.

Re: Engine Cutting Out

Thanks, I'll have to find a way of connecting the meter while the coil is still connected somehow, I'll think on that as I was wondering how to test the coils I have.

It's not one I've used, but it was given to me as a trusted spare. Are you thinking it does sound like a coil issue?

I think he means that he wants to alter the lock to work with an existing key. Unless I've read it wrong?!

Re: Engine Cutting Out

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of looking at the carb next, and I think I shall do, but my gut feeling thinks it's something else as there is a finite pattern to it, as opposed to the randomness that a blocked carb can give. Like something is failing when the car is hot, and works again after ...

Engine Cutting Out

An issue which has just started - car will start from cold great, no problem, and will drive fine for half an hour or so. Then after a while at idle, the revs will start to get erratic/poor and it will cut out. Will start again straight away but will be lumpy and will cut out again at idle. If I lea...

Yes that's right, there are various versions/cars. And yes, that price was reasonable!

Re: The News

We've definitely lived through the golden age of comedy.. people can't work out what a joke or satire is anymore. Been said yo death, but you can't imagine Bottom or Monty Python being aired today! Just in case you don't know Tom, (as you're a fellow Bottom fan), there's a one off special programme...
