Hello Again.
Hello All, I've not visited the forum for quite sometime so thought I would pop in and say hello again. I've still got my 2.8 Special. I've toyed with the idea of selling it as I only did about 200 miles in it last year due to being in hospital in the summer and the recuperation afterwards which mea...

Re: To anyone who's ever owned a Mark I - past or present
My first car was a 1973 Mk1 1600 GT Facelift in Daytona Yellow with Black Vinyl Roof. XLG 464M. Purchased back in 76 when I passed my driving test for the princely sum of £995. A fortune to me in those days. I've got a few photos somewhere I'll dig them out. I would love to get a MK1 of the same spe...

Re: Cyclists!
I've nothing against responsible cyclists personally (I was a Chopper owner in the 70's :) )The ones who dress like ninjas all in black and have no lights on their bikes at 05:00 on winter mornings are the ones I take issue with. I was involved in an incident where a cyclist ran into the side of my ...

Out Of Hibernation
Hi all, I've not been on for a while. Well Spring is hopefully not too far away so it's MOT time on Tuesday. Can't wait to get back behind the wheel of the Capri. I'm hopeful she'll pass having done less than 400 miles since the last one. Aiming to attend a lot more shows and events this year. I vir...

Re: Stoke on Trent members
Hi All in the Stoke-on-Trent area,
I'm looking for someone with the knowledge in S-O-T or South Cheshire who could install an original digital 2.8 radio cassette into my motor. I'm in no hurry but would like to get it fitted ready for Spring.
If anyone can help please PM me.
Thanks.

I'm gutted for anyone who suffers at the hands of these thieving bast**ds.
Unfortunately Classic Fords will always be a target. It's all about stripping them and selling on the more lucrative parts because that's where the money is.

Re: just lost my job
Sorry to hear that mate. Happened to me a couple of times so I know how you feel. As for claiming back what's owed my missus was in a similar situation when she was made redundant by Woolworths after 10 years service and it took months for her to get anything back. Had to really fight to get her ent...

Re: What does everyone do for work?
Operations Manager in distribution working for a large American owned retailer. Been in the distribution/logistics game since 1985. Made redundant three times during my working life so I know how tough it can be. I set myself three month targets to find another job, this included writing & posti...

E-Petition for Rolling Tax Exemption
Guys, You may have seen and signed this petition before; it is a genuine HM Government document. To guarantee the issue being raised in the House of Commons it requires 100,000 signatures. I'm sure most of us feel it is time for a review and a change. History didn't stop in 1972 although it was a ve...

Gutted for you mate. I've been there so know what you are going through.
Where are you based and what sort of job are you looking for? I have a number of contacts in the Logistics and Distribution sector and would be happy to pass your details on. No promises but you never know.

Obviously don't know the Reg Number but it was one of the silver Capri's used in the show. My brother had a complete portfolio from London Weekend Television with photographs of Bodie, Doyle and Cowley with the car.

Re: whos seen this fantastic professionals tribute video
I have seen the video. Its pretty good.
I actually drove one of the show cars some years ago when my brother owned it. He sold it to a guy in Nottingham I think. He didn't want to but his divorce had to be paid for somehow I'd have stayed with her and kept the Cappa.

Re: threats from louts
I had some trouble with a group of youths a few years ago. They thought it funny to run and jump over fences into peoples gardens damaging property. I had 6ft wooden fencing which they loved to climb over, that was until I nailed carpet gripper to the top of the fence panels. The scream from the rin...

Re: Simply Capri
I originally posted on the forum to make members aware of the magazine. It's a good publication. It's in A2 format and of a good quality. It's well worth supporting as it's something for us Capri nuts and not full of the usual Escort (nothing wrong with Escorts by the way) stuff that most of the For...
