Headlight relay Capri mk3

Hi, I'm looking for the headlight relay that sits under the bonnet.
Mines gone kaput and there are only a couple on ebay but they are for auction not 'buy it now'.
Cheers.

Propshaft/diff flange bolts with locktite?

Hi guys, Having taken my prop shaft off after one of the joints seized (horrible vibration!) I noticed some blue on the bolts for the diff flange. I'm assuming this is locktite but I can't find any confirmation anywhere. There wasn't any method of locking the bolts (washers or locking wire) when I t...

Re: Some dashboard lights not working

Got it done! Turns out just a slightly dodgy connection between the bulb holders and the clocks. I would have asked the guy I gave it to to fix it but I needed the car unfortunately. I'm almost glad I didn't because I wasn't that impressed with how he put the dash back together and I was able to tak...

Re: Some dashboard lights not working

Thanks Andy, that's a really great writeup.. way nicer than trying to interpret the haynes wiring diagrams! It says the ignition/brake lamps are on the same circuit as the temp gauge and since that still works.. Maybe it is the bulbs, he did say he changed them so they should be fine, but stupidly I...

Some dashboard lights not working

Hi all, I've just got my car back from an electrician place to fix what turned out to be a dodgy fuse box. After he put it back together the dash lights have stopped working except the clock illumination and the green indicator light (they worked before). So now I don't have an ignition light, handb...

Re: Mk2 drivers door mirror on a Mk3?

Thanks guys :)
I think i'll leave it standard then as I'd rather not drill holes.
This does mean that I'm on the look out for both mirrors too so if anyone has any let me know!

Re: Mk2 drivers door mirror on a Mk3?

After having a better look I think you may be right.
I just wanted the same size wing mirror on each side! It bothers me that they are different.

Thanks foe your help

Mk2 drivers door mirror on a Mk3?

As the title says really.
Will a Mk2 drivers door mirror (the small manual one) fit on my Mk3?

Cheers

Wanted - Anti clatter spring

The spring that goes between the brake pads.
Maybe a bit of an odd request but mine snapped!

It's a 1985 2.0 laser with standard brake calipers.

Cheers

Re: Three questions...

I had a similar problem with the demister tab. Araldite didn't work for me either. I tried soldering it too but that was a pain in the ass due to gravity and the awkward position.. I eventually found some sticky copper strip which I soldered the tab to and then stuck the copper strip onto the screen...

Re: Quick one about my carb

Ah sorry I don't think I was very clear on what I meant. It's not the idle adjustment. The screw I'm on about is on the side where the auto choke assembly is. The idle screw works fine and opens the throttle up a bit to keep it going as it should, but when I was playing with the carb while it was in...

Quick one about my carb

So I just rebuilt my 32/36 weber dgav and while I was doing it I noticed the primary throttle butterfly was slightly open. I discovered the source of this was a thumb screw which when adjusted opens and closes the valve slightly. My question is - what does adjusting this do? I wound it out so that t...

Is anyone worried about ethanol in petrol?

So I was reading the article in the CCI magazine about ethanol being put into petrol. Just curious to know if anyone else is worried about this and are you are doing anything about it?

Apparently super unleaded doesn't have any so I think I might run my Capri on that from now on.

Re: Heater only blows cold

If you listen carefully and move the hot/cold adjuster left and right you should hear the sound of it moving. Mine makes a nice clunk when I move the adjuster all the way over to hot. If you can't hear it I'd agree with Peter. Sorry to hijack this a bit but And remember that the eyeball vents on the...

But this thread:
