MK1 chassis/body weight
Thank you in advance for your response. I want to know if anyone knows the body weight of the MK1 Capri. Bone dry, chassis, doors, hood (bonnet), trunk lid. Trying to figure out where my total weight may end up, to plan for suspension variables. I recently moved these items on a dolly and it did not...

Re: 73 CapriEV
Update: All moving parts are off, Capri was loaded and taken to have it media blasted and primered.
A bit tricky to set up the lift to trailer hand-off. A driveway rose bush was (at least partially) sacrificed... don't tell my wife!

Re: 73 CapriEV
Thank you! yes I think the cheapest component of the project will be the purchased Capri itself :xd: My hope is to have around 150 miles range, and able to fully recharge in around 5 hours. That way I can commute to work (not a short distance) and even go for trips a couple hours out as long as I ha...

Re: Combustion Engines
Electric technology cannot be the only solution for cars, at least not yet. In California we have similar regulations to Europe; but we have power outages when it gets too hot and our power grid is not maintained well. Many of the large catastrophic fires recently have been traced back to fallen pow...

Re: Cologne track widths
Hi everyone again, no, I didn't run away:) I appreciate all the negative feelings toward EV cars and EV regulations. Don't get me wrong, I love the ICE cars (and trucks and motorcycles) and especially the sound is not something you can replicate in an EV in a true sense. Trying something new, if it'...

73 CapriEV
11Capture.PNG With the backdrop of anti-EV banter I got from my earlier inquiry on this forum... I will start this thread and would like your feedback and ideas as I go along. The car is a '73 Capri, in its earlier life it was raced in Vancouver, Canada in the late 70's. It is a blank slate on the ...

Re: Cologne track widths
Thank you all. Is the majority (or all?) of this audience based in the UK? I will make the call and also contact Team Blitz in the US for more info. My buddy is finishing a Tesla Model 3 motor build and his wealth of knowledge and recent experience will be heavily leveraged if I take this project on...

Cologne track widths
Hi everyone, first ever post on this forum (thank you for letting me in!!). I'm at the very beginning of a 50th anniversary Capri build, my parents bought the Capri in which they brought me home from the hospital in 1973. Hoping to put in a Tesla Model 3 performance rear end and do a full electric b...
