1987 Ford Capri 1.6 Laser (2.0S lookalike)

Hi All, I think this has been a long time coming, but it's time to sell my beloved capri. I've owned the car for 8 years and its been the longest car I have ever owned. in those 8 years I've spent over £12,000 on her! not all that money is still in the car, and I most certainly will never see those ...

Re: Introducing CoD - Capri of Dreams

Well it's been a few years now, a few more engines, starter motors, batteries, alternators, lots of swearing. :swear: HOWEVER... finally after taking my car to http://www.jprtuning.co.uk/ I've managed to get the Capri working :D :applaud: In this instance it was the carb was setup so wrong you would...

Re: front wings

For what it's worth I'd like to back 'Caprigear' up 100% he's always been on the end of the phone and I've bought a few parts from him with a great service. I can appreciate what people say, we're all looking for a bargin it's true, I've always felt there was a bit of an 'un written rule' of comrade...

Ford Sierra Cosworth Article

Hi all, apologies for a shameless plug for a friend. But some of you may have heard of Vince Woodman the race driver than had fame in the Capri's back in the day. His grandson did a great article on a very rare Sierra Vince owns - thought you might like a read :D http://revmatch.me/2016/03/26/fit-fo...

1987 Ford Capri MK3 1.6 Laser Red (2.0S replica) for sale

Hi All, It is with a very heavy heart I'm considering selling my Capri. It has just got a clean MOT last week and I'm looking to potentially move out of the country and just cannot keep my collection of 4 cars! It started life as a 1.6 Laser and was purchased by myself in 2011. It is now a 2.0S repl...

Re: Capri Mk3 1.6/2.0 Axle questions (Drum sizes)

Thanks boys and girls for all the comments and advice. I think I'm going to try and get the whole axle from the scrappy. It might be a bit stiff but hopefully not seized, the car dials were saying 84k on the clock 'MILEAGE GUARANTEED' sticker plastered over the front of it :applaud: Apparently the c...

Re: Capri Mk3 1.6/2.0 Axle questions (Drum sizes)

Thanks for the reply, The diff plug is just stuck beyond belief, we have a plug remover with a breaker bar and one pulling one pushing into it.... it's just started tearing out and rounding off. When I had the whole axle out I removed the cover and put some fresh oil in (guessing how much it needed)...

Re: Whats the solution to damaged or missing rubber trim

Hi, I'm going to say very quietly I have a laser that I took these mouldings off and threw away  However at the scrappy near me is a 1984 2.0GL - the thing is completely knackered but I think it has the side trim on it still. I'm popping up Saturday potentially to grab some bits off of it - I...

Capri Mk3 1.6/2.0 Axle questions (Drum sizes)

Hi All, I haven't posted here in a very long time really  my beloved COD (Capri of Dreams) dream came to an end when after a seemingly endless spend it just refused to work properly even though it had a rebuilt engine, strip and respray and endless new parts and then the carb seemed to give u...

Re: For Sale - CCI exhaust, 1.6 pinto and a few bits

The pinto 1.6 is block, and head complete with rocker cover (no bolts) cam belt and pump look quite new but worth checking i guess i have a basic manifold somewhere i think and a 2 p...

So I have a Capri 2.0S (lookalike) and a BMW E36 323i Coupe. Now my BMW has been driving fine, just got a nice set of extended leather door cards and the super hard to come by 10 speaker amped system with the double door tweeters, Thursday it drove like a dream but needed a washer jet replaced, Frid...

Re: ONE FOR THE MOT TESTERS-FUEL LINES.

I used rubber fuel hose from ebay.

It failed first time on being a little loose in the engine bay, so we jokingly cabled tied it to the positive lead of the starter motor... and it passed

I love MOT testers
