Re: ULEZ advice
It resets at midnight so if you are doing a late event (such as an evening out or a night shift) and come back after midnight that is two charges.

Re: ULEZ advice
What reg date is yours Nick? You can only register a vehicle with the DVLA as historic in the April following the car reaching 40. So for my June 83 Capri I have to wait until April 2024. Therefore I have to pay ULEZ for the next 6 months or so. That'll be £25 this weekend as I am using it Friday an...

Re: ULEZ advice
THe irony of this idea of using a 40 year old car to avoid ULEZ, is that if you just want a car thats compliant, there are thousands built since about 2001 that comply, and won't cost you 13 grand.

Re: Dash Lights
Recently I had the instrument cluster out to replace my speedo. I found all of the bulbs were dim because they were age blackened, but the blue plastic bulb shades were generally OK. I put it all back together with new 2.5W wedge bulbs, and it now lights up very well, and at night I even use the dim...

Re: Wanted:Mk3 3.0 rear leaf springs
About a hundred quid premium over normal price for a pair of multileafs with the Capri club or equivalent suppliers, but
A) They look really really nice
B) They are available to buy right now
C) No one else like the club or Tickover seem to have any in stock.
If it was me I'd buy em.

Re: Some photos my Grandfather took during ww2
Really nice to have something like that which someone experienced first hand and recorded. Makes it more relevant than a history book somehow.

Re: Contact breaker points gap
Gap is supposed to be 0.025 inches, or 0.6mm so about thumbnails thickness.
0.25" is a lot. Have you missed out a zero?

Re: FORD CAPRI MK3 FRONT VALANCE
One went for £2500 last year if ebay is to be believed, so that looks like a good price.
Its certainly better value than the headlight surrounds you found from the same seller.

Re: How much ?
Unbelievable. I've never seen one with rust round the tailgate hinges, crikey how do they rust there? Like the description of the sunroof rust blisters as an "easy" fix, christ talk about selling it up for the auction. If all this shit was easy it would have been done before going in the s...

Re: Car cover or don't cover
I will need an outdoor cover for my car soon, and was wondering the same as OP. I took some advice from a neighbour of mine who has an old Maserati Quattroporte. He's had it for over 15 year and it lives on his front drive under a Hamilton Classic breathable fleece lined cover. He has a regime of un...

Re: Windscreen washer not working
The lead in the loom sets off from one of the external spade connectors on the fuse box. Does it - ah so not the multiplugs like I said, that makes it easier, but I'd clean anything connector like. Isn't there connections under the fusebox too? Might be worth attending to them, but as they are insi...

Secret Fords II
Anyone got their copy of Secret Ford vol 2 yet?
It looks good from the first few pages, and looking forward to learning about how the frog-faced Scorpio debacle came about.
Theres a good poster too with lots of wheels on it, the geekery is absolutely off the scale!

Re: Windscreen washer not working
The two stalks with push buttons in them (horn one side, washer the other) have a little wire that comes out at the base carrying the push button circuit into the big connector. The indicator/horn ones are prone to fatigue and broken wires due to that stalk being moved a lot on each journey. The was...
