Re: End of an era.

They've been slowly replacing them with 787 or A380s as appropriate and they had been due to be gone in the next few years but CV air travel collapse has brought it forward somewhat. BA are (well were) the biggest operator of 747s having spent big on the 400 series in the 90s. One would look good at...

Re: BRITAIN'S MOST BORING CAR

Went away last October half term. Range rover was half way through heater blower replacement (worse job even than on the Capri), so I had to hire a car for the week that was big enough. Got a Toyota Corolla estate from local Toyota dealer. It was competent, quiet and hybrid, so it did 60mpg all week...

Re: Radio advice

That retrosound radio comes with an amplifier option, and has been done successfully by members of this forum, for example here: http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=53449 That is expensive, but is the only option if you don't want to move the radio, and don't want to cut the das...

Re: Mk 3 Capri 5.0s

Like what you are doing with this a lot, ie mental V8 and appropriate mods but otherwise quite standard styling. Good idea. Note that temperature and fuel gauges are only usually dodgy if the voltage regulator plays up in behind the dash. Modern replacement available, might save hacking things aroun...

Re: E10 (?!) petrol

Just an observation from me. Ethanol might well be the saviour of internal combustion engines. Its NOT a fossil fuel, but to use it as a 1:1 replacement for all petroleum and diesel fuels won't work as you can't grow enough crops to produce sufficient volumes (I might be wrong though, you might be a...

Re: Grass seed question

So what about the grass then?

Next time you're in that shop can you get me a big lube and some of that powdered root thing that enhances stamina? Lockdown is hard work when you gotta entertain at home only.

Re: CCI Pricing

If you go onto their site, and login with an account which is linked to your member ID and has the "discount" applied, then you get the member prices.
If you email them or ask them they will, if you confirm your ID and membership member, link your account to being a member.

Re: CCI Pricing

Anyone asked CCI why the ebay price is the same as the members-only one? Would have thought the price on ebay would be worse even than the non-member price, as ebay overheads in paying listing fees, sellers fee and the paypal cut would make it more expensive than selling through their own website? E...

Re: Grass seed question

At this rate the outer bush of healthy growth will have completely swamped the bit in the middle that we are interested in, and we won't know whether this whole project has been a success or not!

Seats are curious - where are the badges, and the lower side supports on the bottom cushions look a different shape in that they taper down at the front more.

Touch of white paint on the right hand one would have helped. Imagine the price with that touched up??? Maybe a chance to buy at this bargain price and then add some value and flip on..... oh hang on, no probably not.

Re: Grass seed question

The more we watch this, the less it will grow. Like a watched kettle boiling more slowly.

Its come to something with this poxy bat flu lockdown that we are literally watching grass grow.
I mean I have even ended up autoglym-ing the barbecue as ran out of things to polish.

Eurgh for a moment I thought you meant Greene King IPA! Yeah isopropyl alcohol tastes loads better, glad to meet a fellow discerning ale drinker.
Given the ditchwater laced with hop oil that masquerades as IPA in the world of craft beer right now Greene King is bloody nectar of the gods!
