Re: Black Capri Wanted Any up to 6k!

Black was never a standard colour option, it was always cost-extra done to order. So that will always explain the relatively lower number of black cars of any mark or spec.

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

Hello. Had a great day yesterday and really nice to meet more people from this forum who I have not met before in real life. A good and broad selection of cars to enjoy and good to meet people who'd made a real day of it coming from far afield. Nice to see a few standard cars in GL and L spec, but s...

Re: Dunton - non Capri

There was a lot of cool stuff, I liked the Cortina era P100 and RS500 parked next to each other - good pairing and ironic that the P100 probably rarer than the RS in the condition it was presented in. Lot of cars with notices saying don't touch. I never understand this at shows, I mean if you don't ...

Re: SEP 1, 2019 @ DUNTON, FORD – THE EVENT YOU ALWAYS PROMISED YOURSELF

There has been plenty of feedback on other posts about this event but I'd like to say congratulations to the OP and all involved parties on the organisation of this show, which was a great day. The porta-cabin stage on the track with the talks and the SVE people walking around chatting was great, an...

Ah cool. I did talk to you briefly early on. Congrats on the win, difficult to think of anything better there that day, so well deserved!

Re: Dunton 01/09/2019

I had a good day here, a real spectacle of Capris, and it was good to meet you and Jason, and I think there were other people I should have met from this forum too but missed them. Was the black 2 litre up on ramps in dinner-plate clean condition mr arnoldhar or am I getting confused? That was the c...

I am wanting to go to Brooklands too, but have to go to a party Saturday night so can't commit. Ironically party is in Chelmsford so for the swap of weekends it would have worked out much better!

Looking forward to this, and to hopefully meet some of you on here that I have never met. In fact I think my mum has met more of you than I have through selling various parts over last year or so.

Re: Ask Rod Mansfield

When you did the 2.8i, I am guessing there was a fairly hard limit on the budget and what you were allowed to put into the car for the price it was going to be sold at, but: What would be the next thing you would have added to the original 1981 2.8i if you had been allowed? Would it have been the 5 ...

Regarding tailgates. I've got one. Its listed on the for sale section. No glass in it, so use it for whatever you want.

its about 30 miles from Enfield if you fancy it.
Make me an offer - need it gone.

Re: 2.8i Coil Wiring

Do a compression test too and make sure you haven't got any cylinders on the low side, which could suggest exhaust valve clearances too tight.
long layup could exacerbate poor valve sealing too.
If this happens you end up with "dead" cylinders and poor running.

Re: Thermostat of death

Will be re-coring mine when I get round to it, as it keeps the correct look. I think there are some places that will add a three row core to the standard rads, but I have never had cooling issues with the stock item.

Very disappointed to read you are removing the wiring to the LED strobe lights, or did I misunderstand?

I've only just read this properly with the pictures (cos they don't load when you view at work), and I think this is shaping up as one of the best Capris in the country.
