Re: Mk3 V8 build
More done this arvo, seat, harness, extinguisher and roll cage padding all fitted, door panels, window rubbers and glass installed, inside door panels fitted, headlights aligned, gave it a bit of a vacuum out, and drove it home. Not too bad, there’s a nasty rattle coming from the rear that needs che...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
Not sure why flickr did that with my last lot of photos, but you get the idea. Brakes are bled and we’ve got a pedal, accelerator cable is in, just got to finish the pedal tomorrow, exhaust is made, X pipe and two Chinese copies of flowmasters, sounds mean! Wiring is almost done, alternator now char...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
Thanks mate, I’m glad someone is reading these posts, sort of feel like I’m talking to no one on here sometimes. A lot more progress today, almost none of it was mine though. I got a specialist in who makes up braided brake hoses, after seeing the job he did on my mates turbo anglia, I had to get it...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
I actually cleaned up all the shit I’ve got sitting under and around it today, I’ve got a guy coming tomorrow who is going to make up braided brake hoses for the entire car from pedal box to calipers, as well as the clutch hose too, so thought I’d better clean it up so that he can work on it easily ...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
Bought a new air cleaner as well, not sure if black is right for it, but it’s growing on me. Still need to shorten up the stud. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48288037881_04f2299486_k.jpg FF18FB1A-8E5C-4B9D-8995-229D29D09B3B by paul nielson , on Flickr And a couple of pointless side shots 8-) h...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
And fitted the senders for the temp gauge and oil pressure light+sender, then filled the radiator for the first time. No leaks either! Speaking of leaks, I’ve had a persistent weep from the steering rack for a while, was annoying me, but not enough to do anything about it until today, when I tighten...

Re: Mk3 V8 build
Progress continues. Fuel pump, filter, fittings and hose is all fitted, used -10 hose which has an internal diameter of 1/2 inch, or 13mm for the metric amongst us, should flow plenty of fuel. Also made up a circular plate that bolts over the old plenum chamber, and made up the fittings with the new...

Basically cut it off at the base, but left the rear still attached, then lifted it up by about an inch and filled in the gap.
