Re: New MOT Rules

To be honest anyone who welcomes this is a bloody idiot. I wouldn't trust certain owners to maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition and without the MOT test I would imagine there'd be all kinds of things ignored, tyres, brakes, lights and structural bodywork immediately springs to mind. I rea...

Re: Car SOS Ford Capri 3100 !!!!

This Capri was at the CCI on Sunday and what a great Capri it is , Andrew got some great pictures of the car as they must get together with a race company ( can’t Remember the name now ) as there’s a Crome plaque at the side . Looking forward to this show . The name on the plaque was Ric Wood, prob...

Re: Springs moving in seats - hose trick

The coil springs should have a length of sleeving slipped over each end . They're about 6 inches long. If the springs were original they'd be on there but usually when people change the springs they're sometimes not put back on.

Good choice Nick. I have fitted the same set up on the Cosworth BOB that I've just about completed and they look great.

Re: Gear lever change

You can change it from inside the car, take the main section of centre console out and there's three torx bolts that hold the lever base into the gearbox. I have plenty of replacement levers available.

Re: Sad geek needing answer to daft question

I use Carplan green for the brake pipes, I always paint them as it does my fruit to see bright copper/kunifer pipes stretching all over the engine bay. From memory I think it's either number 15 or 23.
The crossmember is satin black.

Re: Fuel tank

I will be getting new stocks in July.
My original batch of 2.8i tanks sold out within 10 days of me getting them.
I only have two standard ones left, for the 1.6/2.-0/3.0 models.

Yes I do but I always try to keep at least one available at all times as I use quite a few in the fully refurbished heaters that I sell.

Re: So.... throttle cables

I have a new one available. It's strange that you have had problems with them snapping, It's probably a stupid question but are they routed anywhere near the exhaust manifold as this will affect them over time and would cause them to snap .

Re: Brake bleeding

Have you plumbed in the princess calipers properly? you need to link up some of the fluid outlets. I have only two bleed nipples on each of the calipers that I fitted and I have had no problems at all in getting a pedal. I would use a vacuum bleeder rather than Eezibleed as the vacuum method pulls t...
