Re: Windscreen

O large pants then so we both have rubbers that are no good . :banghead: I wonder if we can send it back then as when I rung she did say Mk3 1984-1986 was right . My rubber still might be ok mate   Thing is Jason, whilst we both have been a bit mislead, East Kent Trim are probably not ac...

Re: Windscreen

Nick It's not that confusing really, the East Kent screen seal won't fit the later smaller screens and no one produces rubbers for the later screens. Your screen should be the later size but it may possibly have had an early one fitted at some time with the correct rubber. Unless you can tell the di...

Re: Windscreen

All of the screens up to the early eighties are all the same size then around 83 the screen size got smaller but the size of the rubber was increased . I have over the years fitted a MK1 screen and rubber into a later MK3 shell so I know that all of the apertures in the shells are the same.

Re: Windscreen

You can fit any screen to any Capri as long as you have the correct rubber - the hole in the bodyshells is the same for all models.

The clip that fits on top of the clutch pedal? I have it. I may have the speedo cable retaining bracket but I will have to have a look.

Re: My Capri failed it MOT HELP!!

What you need to do is to get somebody who can show you how to do the job properly, why not the examiner who has failed them? I'm not at all comfortable about people just "having a go" at something that if it failed could easily end up being fatal Get yourself a workshop manual and read it...

Re: My Capri failed it MOT HELP!!

Brutal and direct maybe but honestly you set yourself up for it. Anything safety related should always be fixed properly - NOT simply given a "quick fix" in order to gain a MOT pass.
It isn't a long job to do properly after all.

Re: Fuse 6 keeps blowing

I had a similar problem last year on a 2.8i. As I remember, it was a problem with the rear wiper. I disconnected the wiring from the left side tailgate damper and that stopped the fuse blowing. I ended up replacing the wiring for the wiper motor.
