My v8 capri hasnt got any of the strengthening plates and its fine around all those areas.. however it is beginning to twist in the middle due to horsepower (4.5 times what it had standard)

Re: steering coupler
thanks for the replies guys, Im happy to put up with the harshness, its not exactly a nice supple ride now and with 440hp up front I would rather know that it cant let go while doing 120+mph down the drag strip. Unfortunately our laws here dont allow us to weld any part of the steering so it has to ...

steering coupler
Hi guys, has anyone done a group 4 style coupler conversion on a capri? My rubber one has fallen apart and apparantly the poly ones dont like heat (its v8 powered and the headers are close) so i was looking at the escort uni joints but im pretty sure they wont fit straight on.

I run 15x8s all round on my mk2 with 225/50/15s for street use. When i go drag racing i fit 26x10.5 (245/60/15) slicks on the back which just squeeze in. If you get your offsets right you can fit nearly anything under there

Re: scenic photos

The indicators are actually early toyota corolla ones with the bumper modified to suit. We have quite a few capris here, mainly mk1s and mk2s. I dont mind if it looks ...

Re: V8 but which one?
the motor has been on both engine and chassis dynos, it depends on how the dyno reads the power output, this one reads on the low side. mine also has a c4 in it which eats a lot more power than a manual box. the 11.4 was leaving softly at idle with minimal traction. should see high 10s this season

Re: V8 but which one?
just to further convince you on small block ford, i also have a 347 stoker with afr heads and all the bits. spent yesterday on the dyno and its putting out 340hp at the rear wheels (equates to 440 at the engine). Previously with 30hp less it ran 11.4 over the 1/4 mile. You wont regret it!!!

Re: Wanted capri v8 engine mounts for 302
you cant buy off the shelf mounts to fit a 302 into a capri, i used standard v8 mounts and modified the crossmember to suit.
