Re: 40 Today - National Car Buying Day
Ah okay so in essence I have to wait until April 1st? The way I understood it was that because mine is built Jan 81 I could only apply for historic status or whhatever its classed as in the April if the car was built Before January 1st 1981 Ii.e. 1st of January 1980 upto 31st December 1980. Therefor...

40 Today - National Car Buying Day
Well my car is finally at that age. My 3.0S Janspeed Turbo was first registered on 11th of Feb 1981 although it was built 10th of January. Am I right in thinking it won't need to be MOT"D now but will need to be taxed until January next year? Strange thing is with that date it's previous owner and m...

Re: Classic ford
Most of the filling station forecourt groupies won't even notice.
Also there are plenty of 1.6 Laser 3.0s's but I suppose where it falls down is there aren't any that I know of 3.0S to 1.6 Lasers. At least its a Capri...

The most ridiculous review
https://youtu.be/tvEmccRPYoo See what you guys think of this. Opel Manta nearly 8k when new, LS capri not quite 5k. One is a slightly spec"d up base model, the other is top of the range model. Now F-*ff and find a 2.8i Special which would have had a showroom face off and come back with an answer. Yo...

Re: MG MICRO BLISTERING BIT OFF CAPRI TOPIC
I`m afraid It could simply be that the lacquer is beginning to fail due to age / UV exposure etc? Roof & bonnet suggests that. If the lacquer is blistering it`s unlikely that a DA will solve the problem, you may just `shave` off the blisters and leave matt dots where the basecoat`s exposed. When yo...

MG MICRO BLISTERING BIT OFF CAPRI TOPIC
Hi, a bit off Capri Topic but I'm hoping there are some painters on here that may be able to help. I have a 2002 MG ZS. It's almost been stood for a year outside but polished up frequently. It sits on a drive with a couple of other cars but this time when I washed it and gone to polish it there are ...

These used to make them back in the day and I think they still come with RS logos embossed in to them.

Re: Anyone agree with the Rocket?
For me and I don't know Lewis Hamilton but I don't like him for many reasons. Putting that aside you can only be as good in the sport you in at thee time you are able to be in it. Lots off money to go with it. He should shut his mouth and drive a bloody car. Still my voice isn't valid anymore as I ...

Re: Spark Plug wrench for sale....
I just don't get supposed super cars. I have driven the odd one and always find them massively over priced nonsense. Each to thier own but on my wall as a child was a pic from Wilkos although it was called Wilkinsons then of a 1983 XR3I and if I win the lottery today I would far sooner have that the...

Hi, does anybody know the list price when new in 1981 for the 2.8i? Something tells me £7995 but I have a feeling that was for later run out specials.

Prices are dropping of late I've noticed.
I think the capri bubble is ffnally bursting a little bit. I saw ACA Auctions last week and Silverstone cars were well off estimates. I have noticed this across all sites. It's definitely worth keeping an eye on ACA and the like if you are in the market, all the traders use them and then you see the...

Re: Are speed cameras safe?
My gps already knows speed limits for the area and displays it on screen , I can also set an alarm to go off at a pre set ( by me ) amount above any limit. I would love to see the real reasons and figures for the death toll put down to speeding , like figures corrolated by some one other than the e...
