Re: Mk1 auto gear selector clips

Thanks for the lead, Steve. I'll chase this up with Scimitar Parts. Cheers, Simon https://www.scimitarparts.com/product-category/scimitar-se6-se6a/scimitar-se6-6a-transmission-g6/ Item 12 Well worth ringing to see if they are availble. Mk1 auto gear selector clips

Hi. I have an automatic Mk1 pre-facelift. The part which the PRND21 housing attaches to has 4 fixing holes and these should have clips inserted in them. Mine only has one clip in place - the other three are missing, as can be seen from the attached photos. The holes are size 6mm. Does anyone here kn...

Re: scenic photos

That looks like a Road Rat Capri. Personally I wouldn't be keen on driving a car where the air filter partially blocks ones view of the road.

Re: Mk1 Capri rear quarter lights

The non opening rear quarter window is slightly larger than the opening window. The opening window for a Mk1 has a height of 30½ cm where it meets the B post.

Re: Mk1 floor operated washer pump

The valve is not in the pump, it's attached to the washer tube at the rear of the engine bay.
I've been advised to try soaking the valve in hot water to try to soften any dirt or scale inside it before blowing through it with an air line.

Mk1 floor operated washer pump

The floor operated washer pump on my Mk1 prefacelift is not working. Is there any way of verifying whether the pump valve is faulty?
Could there be a blockage inside the valve? if so, is it possible to fix it?

Any help would be great.

Mk1 Identification plate

Hello I'm Mark and new to this forum. I have a Ford Capri Mk1 prefacelift. One thing seems to trouble me. The VIN plate shows the car to be manufactured at Halewood in November 1971 and is pretty straightforward to decode but there is another plate next to the VIN on the inner wing with some letters...
