Re: 3.0 Exhausts. Which ones?

Thanks everyone for your input. I had read some negative reports on the Sportex systems, so I'd ruled them out, your experiences have confirmed that's the right decision for me. I've do have my orignal manifolds, they'll tidy up & since they are tubular anyway there's not much to gain by going f...

Re: 3.0 Exhausts. Which ones?

I'm no expert but have fitted Janspeeds to a 3.0 and 2.8. Janspeeds come with flanges so easy to connect to the 3.0, and they can be cut off to sleeve the 2.8. Assuming your manifolds are like these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295377023135?fits=Car+Make%3AFord%7CModel%3ACapri&hash=item44c5d7b09...

Re: 3.0 Exhausts. Which ones?

Custom made and delivered. Same as the 3.0 system although, you might need to cut the flange off your manifolds then sleeve and clamp the system onto them? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385209737078?hash=item59b04a1f76[quote][quote] Thanks Andyd, That looks like good value for S/S! Do you think replac...

3.0 Exhausts. Which ones?

Morning all, I’ll soon be needing a pair of these. Anyone got experience of the fit & quality of the CCI version vs. Ashley (could be the same but the pics don’t look like it), or another make? There doesn’t seem to be many options about nowadays. I know stainless would be good but I can’t find ...

Re: Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes

Morning all, here's an update: I managed to get it in. I put a slight chamfer on the outer edge of the bush using a fine wheel on my bench grinder, but that failed to assist. After buggering around with it repeatedly in the jaws of my vice over several days I gave up. Last Saturday although it was q...

Re: Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes

Hi, Arnoldhar - thanks i'll give that a go; sounds like a shock-tactic but I get how that might work. Andrew 2.8i - I've tried them every way around, with & without the sleeve installed. I observed that with the sleeve more external 'bulge' is created since there's no way for expansion internall...

Re: Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes

Thanks for your replies all, This is my setup. You can see the size of the vice - it's not a toy. My last effort pictured is using proper bush insertion kit. I did check the ref numbers on the package with the website (Tickover) where i got them & they checked out. If you don't think it's my inc...

Re: Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes

Well thanks pbar, Why do you favour std bushes? When I ran the car regularly I had steering wobble at about 35mph & I never did find a cure back then, so I was betting on superflexes to be the answer together with all the others. Do you reckon new standards would do the job or were they a weak s...

Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes

Hi all, My first post here. I’m a long time Capri owner & busy with my rebuild. I’m at my wits end with these bushes. I’ve tried everything: vice, nut/bolt, boiling water, socket to stop the ‘bulge’, silicone grease etc. I’ve had these under some serious pressure in my engineering vice but they ...
