What a stunning example, you should be proud.
Any chance of some Interior shots for reference?
I have a 2.8i Special, 4th owner - it’s fully restored to stock spec but would love to see an interior shot so I can see the original leather steering wheel colour, gear knob etc..

Re: 1987 2.8i Special
So I done this last year and it’s been back on the car for about a year. I haven’t done many miles in it but haven’t had any issues - (no more leaks). It was certainty a big task. Taking it off was a pain and stripping it down and carefully replacing the seals, making sure everything was super clean...

Re: 1987 2.8i Special
I’ll remember that if I need to get more paint. Have a bit left over from the re spray so should be good. Has anyone ever tackled changing the seals in their steering racks? I had a leak from the rack so decided to tackle it last year. Was a pain in the backside but I learnt a lot about the steering...

Re: 1987 2.8i Special
Thanks for the comments guys. Stuck with the original “Titan grey” colour, which is basically mercury grey I am told?
Here’s pic that shows the before and after, and an under the bonnet shot.

2.8 (apparently) for resto...
Anyone noticed this 2.8 for restoring on eBay? Is it me or does this looks like a 2.8 in every way apart from the lack of reinforced strut tops? Could be a re shell? Pretty sure all V6 models has them https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F193142750677 Chris

1987 2.8i Special
Been on this site for years but haven’t ever actually posted any photos of my 2.8i. I bought it in 2005 am the 5th owner. I restored it after running it around for a few years. I have a full history file with the car inc all handbooks, MOT’s, details of the owners. It was originally sold to a gentle...

Great stash of parts you have there, you will get top dollar for such rare items.
How much are you wanting for a parcel shelf?

Re: original Ford Capri Rubber Mats Wanted
Hi mate,
I ended up listing them on eBay before you replied to my message. I instantly received a bid which I wasn't expecting otherwise I would have give you first dibs. Sorry about that.
If you did want to bid, here is the link

Did you have any luck with the mats?
I have a brand new old stock set of rear mats if you are interested?
Thanks

Re: Ford capri 1977 3.0s resto
Looking lovely, great job.
What seal did you use for the sunroof? Is the original back in?
Mine was knackered, I had lots of aggro with the replacement seal I bought and it still doesn't fit flush.
