Leaky carb
Recently I have noticed a strong smell of petrol when driving. Had a look around under the bonnet and my carb is leaking, I believe it is from the throttle shafts at the rear of the carb. Would a carb repair kit have the relevant seals to stop the leak?

strut top attachment
On my recent MOT one of the advisories was for the nearside strut top attachment having slight play and I also have a lot of steering wheel wobble at speeds over 40mph. I'm putting 2 and 2 together and assuming that the wobble is caused by the top attachment. Would I need a new strut or is the top a...

Re: Won't rev past 2000rpm under load
I think it is solved now. It seems that the butterfly flaps were sticking slightly. It's still not great on power but then again it could do with a half decent tune up so i'm sure all will be fine. Got it MOT'd today and it is finally back on the road.

Won't rev past 2000rpm under load
Hi all. I'm having a problem where the capri is revving fine when idle but under load it doesn't want to rev past around 2500prm. Before I start panicking (MOT coming up) is there anything I should be looking out for.

I bought one of these from ebay. I've had it almost a year now and have no complaints. Sure there are better cameras out there but it is cheap and isn't that bad. You can see everything clearly enough and can read number plates.

Re: What do I need?
Definitely do what you want to do with it. I used to have the mountney steering wheel which i really liked the look of. A lot nicer than the standard wheel and went lovely with the stainless steel dash inert in my opinion.

Re: Spotted - Capris in St Helens
Bloody hell. Just looking through the forum after a long break from my Capri shaped garden gnome and came across this thread again. I had no idea there were so many people on here from the area. Mine should be back on the road soon (all I need is a new ignition switch). DaveB I used to live just dow...

Re: Starter relay?
Did you ever find a solution to this Peter? I have had a starting problem for some time now and after renewed determination I have found that the clicking noise I used to think came from the starter infact comes from the metal clad relay behind the ashtray. I have tracked the noise and can feel the ...

Re: It lives!
The capri now has a new accelerator cable as I went to adjust it on thursday and noticed it was only held together by one strand of wire, the rest had frayed. So, new cable fitted and what a difference :lmao: . Went on a 200 mile round trip to Skipton yesterday with a friend in his Triumph Spitfire....
