Re: Genuine NOS Ford Mk3 front valance

This might be one of those times that Capri's increasing in value could be a good thing. Now they're starting to fetch good money when restored it might make sense for manufacturers to reproduce pattern panels as the demand will be there. 3yrs ago a Laser worth 800quid would more than likely be scra...

Funny you should mention Subaru's....this GTB has been my daily for over 5yrs !! http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz236/andyonthejob/IMAG0889_zps8byb2xwd.jpg Sorry Steve....i`ll sto...

Re: OCF 280 Resto From Sm Classic Cars

Hi...couldn't resist contacting you as I owned OCF 280 for 9 years from 1994 to 2003 and had heard it was still going strong. I purchased the car from a guy in Bury St Edmunds( a real enthusiast) and it spent the next 9 years near Newcastle. I used it daily and even took it to France in 2000 as par...

Re: B54 ODX x pack from sm classic cars

Black is sooooo hard to get right, especially when there's an X pack fitted too. Saw this in the flesh today. Steve's body prepping magic combined with his chosen painters make for seriously good finishes. I'm looking forward to seeing this all built back up now. The owner must be pleased with how i...

Re: B100CNH... The journey begins..

Hi Des, I was over at Steve's today having a nosey at how mine's progressing. I was having a look at yours too. As previously said, it looks like a very good base to start with. I like to do all my own jobs on old stuff so I'm really out of my comfort zone letting someone else do the work. I spent a...

Re: Clunk!!

The clunk on the front is most likely to be a coil spring coming out of it's seat in the strut and then dropping back into place. This can happen when the car's been off its wheels and moved lock to lock which it will have for the mot. If the spring was well rusted into it's seats then taking the we...

Re: SmokeEm's new daily hack...

Can't fault your choice at all. For the past five years my daily has been my Legacy estate GTB Twin Turbo Jap import. I have two Labradors and figured if ever they needed to get to the vets quickly I'd need all 300 horses to make sure. Gotta say I was concerned about owning an import in case I neede...

Re: Modified or Standard?

Standard as possible for me. I think Capris with the Casey Jones cowcatcher front spoilers are hideous. Couldn't agree more Paul....and you do realise you're showing your age quoting Casey Jones don't ya :) Standardish looking for me with subtle wheel and interior changes but now the values have go...

Re: Help with wing rail

Might wanna move that fuel line from rubbing against the butterfly shaped washer on your suspension top mount too.
Sorry pal, there's nothing nice gonna come from taking that wing off unless you're well prepared for a lot of welding work or a lot of expense if you have to pay someone.

Re: Mint Grey Dash

Imho I think the reason so few partshave been reproduced is because up until the last 12- 18 months most Capri 's commanded small money in comparison to such as Escorts. Is it possible that now they've rocketed in value the panel and parts reproducers might see there's some profit to made as there's...
