I want a stereo
Hiya lads, I'm looking for an old style stereo for the Capri. Not necessarily the original Ford one by any means, just something old school, preferably with big buttons and turning knobs. The only thing it has to have is FM, anything else is up for grabs. Broken tape players, 8 tracks, or nothing el...

She's Pullin'
Question for you experts, if you would be so kind.... My 86 Laser always pulled a bit under braking, mostly to the right. I just replaced the front calipers, and got braided hoses. Then replaced the shoes and bled the lot. Still pulled to the right under braking. Up on a rolling road today, brake sy...

Re: I need a spacer
Here's the kind of thing my mechanic mentioned:
The aluminium spacer in the middle here has a pipe/tube coming out the side.
Is this not necessary for a pinto 1.6?

Re: I need a spacer
Thanks Beakster. Someone told me that the spacer should have a inlet/outlet pipe going into it, and there's a blocked off pipe (vacuum i think) coming off the carb.
Thoughts?

I need a spacer
Hi friends,
I have a weber 32/36 carb and a manifold put on my Laser 1.6 litre, but I don't have a spacer between the two of them. Right now the carb is just bolted onto the manifold, and I know the setup requires some plate between the two.
Anyone have such a part?
Thanks,
Billy.

Re: driving round ireland, any advice?
Go from Dublin to Dingle, then next day on to Killarney and take the road to Glengarriff via Kenmare. You will not be disappointed.
Re: Chug Chug
She's booked in for a transplant tomorrow. Installing a nice weber 32/36 and K&N filter.
Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Re: Chug Chug
Won't start at all now. Mightn't be getting a spark. On my own so can't check properly.
Re: Chug Chug
Also, would a mix too rich cause blacking plugs that would lead to this problem?
Re: Chug Chug
I put in electronic ignition recently, that bypasses the condensor, doesn't it?
Re: Chug Chug
I haven't changed it back because it was so low it was cutting out at red lights, so either way I can't go back to what it used to be. It's an old VV.
Chug Chug
Hi Friends, I'm having a spot of bother with a 1.6 laser. She's acting funny when I push the engine a bit during acceleration. If I accelerate slowly and smoothly, then all is well, but if I put the foot down, the car kind of 'chugs'. If feels like its skipping a firing or something, like it's stall...

There's Water Getting In
Lift the carpet in the driver's footwell, and there's water there. I know some people mentioned this as a problem with some Capris. Where's it getting in from? Is it coming in under the door, or possibly from the windscreen? If it is coming in at the bottom of the door, as I suspect, might there be ...

Re: Dash Light Improvement
To be honest, it's pretty self evident once you start pulling everything apart. Just go slow and make a note of everything, what goes where etc. Start by taking the fascia off the dash. This usually involves removing the bottom pnels below the dash first, and sort of stripping the whole lot away. Re...
