If it still has the fault, as soon as it stops running have a look inside the carb, take the top off. bit fidly at the road side. If the level is very low or even empty then thats your problem, My 2.0 did the same, the carb was empty and not filling fast enough. It was the small filter inside the ca...

I dont think they are that good, my mate had one on his mk 1 escort van and it still got borrowed without permision!!! The copper doing the "investigation " said they are no good as the theiving buggers know how to remove them in seconds !!, big waste of money if you ask me .

I got a scorpion alarm off ebay, new inc alarm, immobiliser, two central locking motors, bonnet protection etc. Very good price and its a good alarm with lots of features, and combines remote central locking to !! Thanks to all for the advice etc. I have checked the db level with a mates i phone thing; @ 4thou it was 147 db from 12 feet away at rear of car @ 5thou it was 142 db as above, why it is louder at lower revs is unknown. Maybe the db meter isnt that good as we took alot of readings and the results wh...

I go to Blackpool a fair bit in my resto, 2.1 S just resprayed signal orange with black roof, usualy travel through Preston visiting relatives etc.

Mixture screw is on the left side when you are looking at the carb from the front,it will be a brass coloured slotted head screw about half way up carb ish, stick an eyeball on that side and you should see it, use a tourch (battery powered) to see properly

That is your idle screw by the looks of it, Turn it clockwise to increase etc, Your mixture screw should be on the other side, not where you have arrowed, there is a few of those empty tube looking things here and there.

We have all had to learn the basics at some point, I caught the posh bird who lives next door to me trying to put oil in the engine via the dipstick tube!! PVS valve question
Hi, 2.0 pinto has the green pvs valve attached to the underside of the inlet manifold, nothing is connected to this,I think there should be 2 pipes. My question(s) is; Can the pvs be removed and plugged? What will the pvs be doing if no pipes are attached (ie) will my engine run different without it...
