Re: Stainless Steel Manifold/Exhaust for a Pinto
Thanks guys! I'm in Devon now not Oxford, just updated my profile  The HPE manifold is stunning. Not sure if it's a straight fit due to this in the description - "Will not fit with standard servo tower in place. Comes with a 2.5" Collector". That could be just for the Escort tho...

Stainless Steel Manifold/Exhaust for a Pinto
Hey guys! I know this has been asked a few times over the years but most of the threads I found were out of date with what was available.
Can anyone recommend a company that can supply a full stainless system for a Pinto powered MK3?
Thanks!
Nic

Re: Parcel Shelf Hole Measurements
Thanks guys! Great help.
Haha nope, no speaker holes thank you... Just trying to get as close to original as possible with what's readily available.
Next I need to find the little plastic things that connect the cords to the shelf. Not even sure if you can still get them

Parcel Shelf Hole Measurements
Evening all! I've gone and got myself one of those new fancy CCI parcel shelfs. I've one issue... I've never seen an original shelf in my life and have always had a nasty furry reproduction one (from the 90s?!) and because of this I've got no template to drill holes from. Does anyone know the measur...

Re: Front Valance Corner Repair Panels
Sorry for bumping this thread - it's been a while since I logged in. Paul was spot on and Trevor was able to supply hand made valance repair panels. Another Capri saved! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLVgwmL4kp_8PAzjrgaNj8BaQtbA4qsb2Cgoyp0KztLSOdDQ2yv2G01b1B94v1rxzkBTZaK3TUuGgI5ImgJEs5WFT...

Front Valance Corner Repair Panels
Hi guys,
Looking for each corner of the front valance in repair panels. I swear at some point I've seen these about but can't for the life of me find them now.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Widest Wheels with Standard Arches
I have 7.5J RS4 wheels from JBW (here's the link https://www.johnbrownwheels.com/products/jbw-75-x-13-rs4.html) that fit my car without any adjustment Cheers Danny Cheers Danny! Nice wheels! Interestingly, JBW do "pepperpot" steel wheels for relatively cheap and they almost look the same ...

Widest Wheels with Standard Arches
Evening all! I'm looking at banding some steel wheels for my Capri as I want the original look but with a bit of stance. Trying to calculate the maximum width that I can get away with without any modification to the car. The car is currently sitting 1" lower on the front which is matched by the...

Re: Springs moving in seats - hose trick
Cheers Oily! Great explanation! The springs are from RallySport and appear to be identical to the originals but -1".
Did the Ford seats fit at the top and the bottom of the spring?

Re: Springs moving in seats - hose trick
The springs are slightly lower than the originals so with no load they are able to twist slightly when you move the steering. Only happens at low speeds and tight steering locks. Can you remember whether the springs had sleeves on the top or the bottom? Or both?

Re: Springs moving in seats - hose trick
Haha, spooky! I'm thinking heat shrink on the top and bottom for the spring would be a nicer solution. I guess all you need is to create enough friction to stop the spring moving. Shouldn't need much once it's sandwiched in the strut...

Springs moving in seats - hose trick
Hi all, I've just taken the front suspension to bits because I'm fed up of the springs going "PWANG" every time I do slow manoeuvring. I've read that the trick to stop this is to put garden hose on the spring. Do you put the hose on the top and bottom? I'm surprised nowhere sells replaceme...

Re: 2.8i as a family car/daily driver?
Love the idea! Depending on the size of the front occupants the Capri can really only be seen as a 2+2 rather than a 4 seater. For short trips it's fine but for a longer trip it's not overly comfy. I can only fit back there if I'm laying across the seat. My only other concern would be for safety. Th...

Righto, 100oC it is! I guess I don't want the fan running too often if it doesn't need to.

Re: Electric Fan Installation
Hi Paul! Hope you're well.
Brilliant, 32mm it is. On at 100oC that seems a little late? What would be the down side of going for the on at 90oC? I think I'd like to keep the coolant temp below boiling point if possible. Saying that... I was never aware of what the temp was with the viscous fan.
